((I'd like all trainers to have cellphones to be able to call each other--and Flora. Makes the story more interesting, y'know? xD)) The battle was long and admittedly hectic. Sterling had just figured out how to command his pokemon--but he figured that he, alongside his small partner, did a good job. If anyone asked, Totodile had just won by a small margin. Sterling was proud of Brody. The water type had put his all into the battle and that was all that Sterling could really ask for, from any pokemon. The two of them were just beginners, with a long and steady road ahead of them. Patience was key. They would need to learn about each other first in order to become more adept at battling, and just living alongside each other. "Good job!" Sterling exclaimed as he scooped Brody up fondly, coddling the Piplup to his chest. The small Piplup chirped in a pleased manner. With that, he turned to Ray. "We'll win next time, for sure though." He spoke easily to the younger trainer, eyes narrowing and a teasing smirk on his face. There was going to be a lot of training in the future, and Sterling was glad that he had chosen such a tough little pokemon to travel alongside him. He was truthfully glad that the trainers had approached the task with such vigor. Them being eager to battle was certainly a good sign. Clearing his throat, he decided to give them a small lesson on stat buffing and de-buffing moves, which may prove useful to them. He spoke in a voice that was loud enough to be heard by all trainers. "When using stat buffing or de-buffing moves, such as Leer, or Tail Whip, I'd like you all to know that these types of moves all have different stages. For example, Leer lowers your opponent's defense by one stage while the move Screech lowers your opponent's defense by two stages. Therefore, Screech can be viewed as a more powerful version of Leer. Many stat buffing moves do have separate moves that can be viewed as more powerful versions. Thanks to the people at Cav Corp, a technology center that assists with the Pokedex, your Pokedexes can now describe the effects and type of moves that your pokemon can learn. If any of you want advice with pokemon moves, feel free to approach me. Or call me. If any of you are interested, come to me and I'll tell you my cell phone number." "But you all did brilliantly today!" Flora stated cheerily, clearly glad with the outcome. "I'm very pleased at your efforts!" He paused as David approached him, blinking slowly. "Ahh... I only have one Pokemon on-hand right now. But if you're okay with one-on-one, then sure I'll battle you!" He stated with an amiable smile, before turning to the new trainers. "If any of you would like to observe our battle, then feel free to do so."
