If everyone wants to restart, we can absolutely do that. :) @OldManWong are you okay with that, too?
If we did restart, it might be best just to keep the few people we already have and who we know will reply. Too many people results in too many flakes and waiting on too many responses (which makes it move way slow).
If I can be honest for a moment... I'm really disappointed as of late. I joined 8 RPs since coming back onto this site and only two of them are really active. Most people quit on me or just stopped replying. :( I only bring this up because I'm honestly curious - is that normal on this site, now? Do people do that a lot in the other RPs y'all do or have tried to do?
Thanks for the well wishes. Maybe in the new year I might rejoin or something but I'll have to see what happens with my schedule over summer.
I joined an RP a several months ago and it went on for a long while until the GM and Co-GM had personal problems (They were in a relationship and one lost his job, so it put pressure on them). I wouldn't say that it's a site thing for having RPs that fall off the radar as the community is just a group of people and generally RPs are a hit or miss depending on a variety of factors. Starting it towards the end of the year could be one with exams and Christmas coming up soon. Even my 1x1 Partner and I are having trouble with trying to balance work and play this month, when before we were daily posters.
Something I have noticed over my time is a key part that needs to be in an RP and that's motivation. The characters need to be motivated by a goal or event. It's partly why Fandoms do well as they piggy back this idea from the series and re-invent it into their own (A new Sith appears in a Star Wars RP, or, What if Frodo never made it to Mount Mordor). Fresh idea RPs need to have a bit of a motive for them for people to think of ideas and create a story to aim for a goal.
Something I might suggest is maybe shrinking that age bracket a little bit to maybe 15-17 or having mixed age classes. Something that I came across that was difficult was that I wasn't really going to be interacting with anyone other than 1 player due to the classes. It meant that I probably wouldn't have those awesome scenes in the cafeteria where everyone is messing about, but being 17, (especially with Aussie) teens tend to drink and experiment a little bit with their lives.
Your idea and school is good. I'm not normally interested in these kind of RPs and I started watching Nichijou when I joined, so I was a lil pumped for the idea. But I felt a little lost in what I wanted to do and what everyone had planned as well.
