Would it be possible to leave what happens between James and Molly blank until Ivory returns? I don't want to skip it or cut it short because those two could work so well together (I have a ship cautiously prepared for them, myself). The guideline for James going forward (and therefore also for whatever she and I do to fill in the blank) would be that the two characters don't expect to meet during the time that Ivory is away. The end reason for the delay could be that Molly wants to focus on school, that James needs to tie up some loose ends with a certain professor, that they didn't hit it off, or what have you, but as long as it fits that criteria James can move forward for an indefinite period of time until the situation is resolved without forcing a situation like Nori's and the retroactive resolution can also flow into whatever state the story is currently in.
