[@Frengo] From your app, I assume Great Britain reunited much faster than France did/is. In that case, I'm sure a British declaration of protection over Normandy would help you out, especially if you allow us to station troops in your territory :) Do you plan to reunite France, or stay an independent country? Either way, we can go and colonise stuff together if you like.
Yeah my plan was for Britain to have got its stuff together a lot sooner, and whilst France remains a patchwork quilt of warring factions, the UK is a united powerhouse of tea drinking kick ass. I'll adjust the history accordingly. My thinking is that Normandy "invited" Britain to help them, in return for food etc, but the British were probably more delighted with an open invitation to expand their influence across the channel. I intend for Normandy to branch out into France, but for its reliance on British support to render it a kind of puppet-state that may become its own regional power later on. So the Norman and British militaries would bear many resemblances, with the French probably being British trained and with the bulk of their hardware being of British origin. Kind of like how Iraq is to America, but not as messy and more collected. However, the politics will vary greatly, which may or may not leave room for intermittent tension between the two powers throughout. I dunno, I'm open to anything really. I could even have it that they've modeled their government on the British, if that fits better.
