Both Alice and Annenis were very confused and slightly scared as they try to wrap their head around what was happening in front of them. Especially for Alice as Meira didn't show anything about being possessed earlier that morning. Which mean that Meira already had the other being inside her for longer, pointing that it was more of an identity dissociative disorder, that meant it couldn't be possession as it was against what they had read before.
