Appearance: Although she shaved her head for her initiation a few years ago, Alysia once again has long, dark hair that hangs just past her shoulders.  She has bright blue eyes and a round face.  While she is certainly not slender, she is very fit and muscular.  At roughly 5'8" tall, Alysia towers over most of the women around her, but her gentle face and perpetual smile tend to put people at ease.

Backstory: Since the time of Avatar Aang, the Air Nation has been steadily growing.  Alysia is among those who grew up there, and the lucky few who were airbenders.  She trained as a monk throughout her childhood, and had several opportunities to see the world through her travels as a novice airbender helping others who requested the assistance of the Air Nomads.  Alysia was among the more studious airbenders among her friends, and cared more than most about the lengthy history lectures and technical skills.  

Just two years ago, Alysia was assigned to work in Republic City, taking requests from the people there for assistance from the Air Nomads.  In recent years, as the motion to help other nations has grown, the Nomads made an effort to place at least one center in each country where requests can be made directly to an airbender.  It has been difficult and overwhelming for Alysia to adjust to the new position, as city life is far more hectic than the order of the temple.  At the end of her second month there, her stall where she took requests was robbed, and she briefly returned to the temple.  However, she decided eventually that this meant the people of Republic City must need an airbender, and that it was therefore her responsibility to be there to take their requests and help them with their problems.
