I wonder how often something like this comes down to disability fraud? I honestly doubt there are many people willing to go [i]that[/i] far for tumblr cred. If this exists at all and isn't just trolls, it seems way more likely it's just the modern equivalent of the tried and true fake back injury of yesteryear.
