Not only his he typically cloaked in thick plumes of sand, but he wears thick red cloth clothing that covers him from head to toe. The costume is made up of a hood that tapers off at the ends, a long connected bodily section with several areas of intricate stitching. His hands are stuffed into thick leathery gloves that have the claws of an animal attached to the end which help him get grip in the slippery sands. He has two large kneepads which are helpful in quite self-explanatory fashions. He also wears leathery goggles that contain no actual glass, but do help his eyes adjust to the harsh light bouncing off the sand. When he's not in the desert or out on business, he's still actively representing the culture that he comes from with the numerous tattoos adorning his forearms and hands, which are quite plainly on display through the sleeveless black shirt that he typically wears underneath his bandages. His skin is a dark coffee brown, which contrasts against the bright white of his bandages and headwrapping which he ties into an odd sort of hat combined with a ponytail holder to keep his long brown hair in place. On his lower arms, he wears a lot of leather straps along with the bandages as well as a quite substantial amount of jewelry. His ears are pierced with golden hoops, which are decently large, at least the size of a softball. His eyes are dark brown and give his face the look of a man that enjoys a good joke. Likes;; Sleight of hand, sparring, sand, spicy food, short things, music and art Dislikes;; The cold, harsh governments, rich people, entitlement, non-creative people Strengths;; Sneaking, bending sand, charisma in general, connection to the spirit world Weaknesses;; Bending great amounts of normal rock, trust, slight degree of perfectionism Personality;; At first glance, Xun isn't the kind of person that you want to get that close to. He's got an off feeling to him, even when he's being kind or friendly, it just feels forced. And that's not for nothing, he finds actually talking to people very hard and trusting even harder. Having grown up in a secluded area where people would stab each other for a spare coin, he learned very early that if he wanted to succeed he needed to cut down on the befriending thing. Despite this, he's got quite the silver tongue, and can be ridiculously persuasive at times when the situation calls for it. He's also slightly savage to some, as he enjoys sparring and he thinks that shows of strength are very important. Xun also has a thirst for crime, which leads to him stealing small things with relative ease via pickpocketing and pulling the wool over others' eyes. He's the kind of person that's always smiling, it's hard to find him when he's not got a bit of a smirk on his face which earned him a nickname in the sandy wastelands. The Smile of Death. Despite his enjoyment of thievery, Xun has an odd code of ethics that's not even particularly understood by him. All people know is that sometimes, he'll just let you away without taking any of your items. When asked about it by others of his kind, he just states that sometimes he doesn't want to. As of late, he's turned away from mugging so often, only choosing to go after large scores that would make him a name. Underneath his weird mask, Xun is a creative person who uses rhymes and thievery as a way to express himself artistically. He's got quite the mind for rhymes, and when he's feeling up to it, he'll mug someone whilst speaking entirely in rhyme. His interest in music has lead to a decrease in the amount of trouble he causes, and an increase in spirituality. He's reached an awakening after a visit to an odd library, becoming aware of spirits and spiritual energy. He seeks further knowledge past what he's been told by the spirits themselves, possibly seeking enlightenment itself. Background;; As far as Xun knows, he was born in the desert to a family in a small camp of people that stuck together and nomaded across the desert whilst simultaneously scavenging for scrap and other things together. Unfortnuately, the caravan they had going got somewhat complicated when there was a change in leadership that lead to some issues and eventually mutiny. It became very hard to live a honest and normal life in that area of the desert with the ridiculous murder rate and consistent muggings. Forunately, he and his family managed to make due with what they had and continue living their life albeit with some severe changes. Xun decided that he was going to figure out a way to help out his family in any way possible, so he turned to mugging. A local gang decided they were going to take him in and show him the ropes, and he quickly excelled under their tutelage. Unfortunately, they didn't realize at the time that they'd be raising their only competition for the future. During his time as a highly active mugger, Xun was trying to figure out how he could make sandbending more resilient and to the roots of Earthbending. And as he was sitting around, he realized, it was pressure. Pressure was the root of Earthbending, and trying to take this principle and apply it to sandbending originaly wielded no results. After weeks of tooling around with it for weeks on his offtime between chores, pawning things off, and mugging, something happened. The sand began to harden into a weird sort of clear rock that was slightly thin. He had made glass. With quite a bit of trying, some breakdowns, and hours of elbow grease, he managed to consistently bend glass. He then realized that he could use this to his advantage, and he used it in his muggings to make himself much more threatning by attacking people with shards of glass and eventually blades of glass. He began to take his hustle way farther beyond just helping his family live comfortably. Xun began to travel around the Earth Kingdom, grabbing various other scores and stealing from all kinds of people before it all backfired. He got ambushed, pretty badly too, in the middle of his own territory. He managed to get away using a storm of glass and sand as cover to limp away. He managed to escape into a structure in the middle of the desert, which turned out to be a library. Seemed all well and good, until Xun met the owner of the establishment. A large bird spirit who wasn't exactly the best company. However, he recognized that the sandbender was hurt and let him hide out in the library as long as he didn't get blood on the books. Having heard about spirits, but never actually learned much, he decided to use his time in the library as well as he possibly could. He began to devour knowledge, on spirits, on the spirit world, even on the Avatar and people that could see spirits. Upon his departure, he was as knowledgeable on spirits as he ever thought he could be. Fast forward some time afterwards, during a somewhat routine mugging, an odd creature wandered into Xun's way. Both his partners, and his victims had no idea what he was talking about. So he fled the scene quickly. He realized that what he saw was a spirit, and that something had happened to allow him to see it. Extra;; Xun moonlights as a musical artist in some areas in the Earth Kingdom, and wishes to one day travel to Ba Sing Se and perform. He's gained somewhat of following. Xun has visited the Spirit World in a dream, but meditation has not yet allowed him to reach that level. He carries at least a pound or two of sand on him at all times, not including whatever's stuck to his clothes and hair.
I hope you find my character to be up to par! I certainly enjoyed creating him.
