I liked this idea so much I just had to write something up immediately. It's not finished of course, I'm far too tired at the moment to do that, but here's what I've got off the top of my head.

Her true personality is a mystery as she shows it no one, instead adopting whatever personality traits she believe will best ingratiate herself with everyone around her. Some might call that manipulative, but she calls it efficiency.

[b]Kido and Shunpo:[/b]
As a Lieutenant of the Gotei 13 and a Corps Commander in the Onmitsukido, Akiko is well versed in all four combat arts of the Shinigami: Zanjutsu (Swordsmanship), Kido (Demon Magic), and particularly Hakuda (Hand-to-hand) and Hoho (Fast Movement), the combat art to which Shunpo belongs. Her skill in Shunpo is such that she has begun to teach herself to use the Utsusemi technique, able to leave behind a brief afterimage, however she isn't yet skilled enough to leave behind an afterimage that can appear to be wounded.

To qualify as a Lieutenant, Akiko has become skilled in the use of both Bakudo and Hado Spells up to 63rd level.

[b]Appearance:[/b] A white bladed katana with a circular tsuba and pale grey tsuka.
[b]Name:[/b] Kagekiba (Shadow Fang)
[b]Release Command:[/b] Bite!
[b]Shikai Appearance:[/b] Kagekiba's blade straightens and shortens, becoming a Ninjato. The blade, tsuba and tsuka all turn black.
[b]Shikai Ability:[/b] Most of Kagekiba's abilities are focused around ensnaring the enemy or restricting their movements. Kagekiba also passively increases Akiko's own speed.
Kuroi Kusari (Dark Chain): Akiko reverses her grip on Kagekiba and extends a shadowy chain from the pommel, which she casts at the enemy to bind them or tangle around their weapon.

Kageshibari (Shadow Binding) Akiko stabs Kagekiba into her opponent's shadow and leaves it there, continuing the fight with her Hakuda. It cannot be removed the owner of the shadow, and so long as the blade remains the shadow cannot move. The owner of the shadow finds their movements slowed by the effect and the further they attempt to move from their shadow, the more difficult it becomes to move.
