Well, conflict mostly. However, the rule can be changed if a convincing case can be made for it to be changed. Which, at this point, I think you could easily convince me. It would make sense for such a developed area to be more accepting of things such as gender and race. However, it is also high society which means there are more standards and traditions for the students to follow. All it would take for a strange rule to be set in place would be a family that provides a substantial sum of money to the school to threaten to cut it off unless the rule is set in place. The world isn't going to be nice and fluffy, because nice and fluffy is boring. :P

But again, you could easily convince me to make that one change. Seems like a reasonable request.
