I think the new profession is much more fitting. :) Though I'm curious now how we would have worked the old one into Shine City.

I recommend attempting to find an animated picture to fit that little description, so we can get a better visual on our man.
But other than that, I see no issues.

And since Shou was an aspiring Biologist (and a genetics enthusiast), he suffers PTSD due to the experimental gene splicing he was made to sit in on back in Shine City's headquarters, as part of his education into genetics?

And him and Ollie both developed their smoking habits to try and get away from their pasts?
Because there are some things even a Private Eye doesn't want to have to have seen.
