Bishop's head shot up when he noticed Karen waving at the group. Oh thank God. He quickly moved ahead of the party and nearly ran towards Karen. When he reached her, Bishop began giving Karen his brief understanding about them. "From what I understand, one child hates anyone not 100% magic veins, another doesn't care, one's too bubbly for my liking. The others, nothing so far. I'd watch out for the talkative one, I swear she doesn't know when to stop," he moved to Karen's side as he spoke about the group he was just in. Thank God they didn't notice me while I was with them, if all that chatter was directed towards me I'm sure my head would've burst. Bishop thought as he watched her, seeing if she was going to go towards Bubbles, he dubbed her. If she was, Bishop would follow regardless of his personal opinion of the group members.

"Oh man", Charlyn stopped. "I've been rambling so much. Time to take a break. Sorry, that happens when I am too excited." She then turned to the newest member of their chatty group. "I am Charlyn. Nice to be a first year finally. I was raised by magical parents. And you? If you don't mind me asking this is." Okay, Char, don't rable on again. As much as you want. It will all be better once the ceremony begins and I have something else to focus on than the facts I already know. When is this ceremony starting anyway?

Isaak then remembered something else he had forgotten to bring up with the other students when Charlyn brought up quidditch, it was something he would definitely love to discuss.

"Oh yeah, quidditch! The best sport in the wizarding world. Each house has their own team and I plan to join the Slytherin team as either a chaser or beater. My dad told me all about the rules and if I make the team he'll get me a fast broomstick" he said almost excitedly, he liked talking about quidditch and Isaak would probably need to explain the rules to a couple of them.

"I'm sure you all know what quidditch is right?" he asked curious to see if any of them did or not.

Karen paused and her arm went down. Her effort to get Bishop's attention had worked, but also had the unintended consequence of gaining the attentions of the people around him. She decided to go join them as she was invited, but firstly she would rejoin with Bishop.

The girl listened as her friend gave her an surprise but nonetheless interesting debriefing on the different characters that composed the little group. A blood purist, an apathetic bystander, and a cheery person. Quite a gathering of personalities, she thought wryly. Well, it was not as if it was her business how they chose to act, so long as she was unaffected.

"Ha ha, I'll be sure to follow your advice then," she laughed lightly in response to Bishops advice, but nevertheless considered his words seriously, because no less than a second of him finishing, Charlyn, the - Karen presumed - aforementioned 'Bubbly One' began speaking with him in a quick, excited manner, though it seemed she was at least attempting to hold back. "I see that you're a bit busy as of the moment. Let's talk some more later." While Karen waited for Bishop to finish speaking with her, she turned to the girl that had waved her over.

"Hello, I'm Karen Diana Irving McGrave. It's a pleasure to meet you," she greeted with a neat lilt in her voice, lifting the hems of her robes and bowing her head for a small curtsy. The introduction was given to the girl, but practically was meant for all of them in the group.

She turned to Isaak. "It's a given that those raised in the magical world know about Quidditch I think," she replied, tilting her head slightly. "Though to give a straight answer: Yes, I know what Quidditch is, and I consider myself as a fairly decent player." Of course, this was going by her observations on professional players she had watched and how she evaluated herself next to them. She did not consider herself anywhere near their level of skill, but felt as though she could emulate their ability enough that it was satisfactory. Perhaps time in Hogwarts would correct her estimation of her skill, but she considered that for later.

Bishop gave a little wave and mumbled his name before returning to his place behind Karen. Three people was already too much for him, but since there was four now, excluding Karen, he wasn't really up for socializing. He let Veil sniff around on his shoulder as he listened to the conversation. Quidditch huh? Never played. Bishop thought his part of the conversation as he tried to remain unnoticed. If someone directly asked him a question he'd have to respond, so he began building up some courage as he hid behind his friend.

Brynn was really impressed by miss Karen Diana Irving mcGravy's introduction. She was so sophisticated, if she didn't look so young Brynn would've thought she was a teacher. She didn't really know if she aught to curtsey back so she didn't.
"I'm Brynn Green, but most people don't use last names unless they're adults. I hope you don't mind if I just call you Karen, its a lovely name by the way. " Brynn introduced, smiling and waving at the strange eyed boy hiding behind Kearen.

She didn't really know anything about quidditch except that it was a wizard sport, and now was the perfect chance to find out. She peered over at Isaak. "Um, Isaak, " she piped up. " What exactly is quidditch. I know it's a sport, but what's all the excitement around it for?"

@Classpet

Isaak smiled when Brynn asked what quidditch was, he would need to give a good explanation and compare it to muggle sports. He thought of the ones that seemed like quidditch and then explained the sport to the girl.

"Quidditch is a sport that is similar to muggle sports, I think they're called 'soccer and basketball' anyway there two teams and they fly around on broomsticks. On each side of the field there are three hopes. There are four types of players, the chasers, the beaters, the keeper and the seeker. The chasers pass a red ball known as the Quaffle between each other trying to get to their opponents end of the field without losing it to the other team and try to toss into one of the three hoops. Each score is worth ten points. The beaters carry clubs and try to whack the bludgers at opponents, the bludgers are two hard black balls that fly around the field in random directions and it is the beater's job to knock them towards a chaser in the hopes causing them to drop the Quaffle. The keeper guards the goal hoops and tries to stop the enemy chasers from scoring. Finally there is the seeker whose job is to catch the golden snitch. The golden snitch is a small golden colored ball with wings that flies very fast and it is the job of the seeker to find it and chase after it and finally catch. The game only ends when the snitch is caught and catching the snitch gives the team who caught it one hundred and fifty points. That's basically how the game is played." Isaak explained.

It was a mouthful and he had to breath deeply a few times, but he liked explaining how quidditch worked to new people who were unfamiliar with the sport

With no progress of finding Terrance, he walked up to a group who was currently talking about Quidditch. They looked like they were his age, so he went up to him, and he saw someone he thought he recognized. Boyars. Isaak Boyars. He casually walked up to the group and said,

"Are you Isaak, Isaak Boyars? You may not know me, but I'm Callum, Callum Illmore." Cal was nervous that he wouldn't know him, and would look stupid in front of about eight people, not a good way to start of the year.

Their group was becoming quite popular and another boy came over and spoke Isaak, seeming to him and his family. Once he introduced himself as Callum Illmore, Isaak then recognized the last name, they were another pureblood family and he probably would also end up in Slytherin as well.

"Hello, I know of your family, I'm guessing that you're hoping to get into Slytherin like me right? The house of the ambitious and cunning" he replied to Callum with a smile, it would be nice talking to someone who also had an interest in joining the Slytherin house.

Before Isaak had a chance to reply, another girl in the group asked him if he would try out for the Quidditch team.

"Of course! My dad and my dad's dad have both been seeker for Slytherin, so I hope to be a seeker to." He should have known that talking with a Pure-Blood from a family like the Boyars meant a talk about Slythern.

"Well, it's true Slytherin is a good house, with a bad reputation of dark wizards, but there are some people in Slytherin who haven't turned out bad. It's just, I've always been praised for my smarts, and there is a high chance I'll be put in Ravenclaw, so I'll wait and see." It was true, Cal was praised for his smarts, but what he wasn't telling Isaak was that he had no intention of going to Slytherin. No one in their right mind would ever say that to a family like the Boyars or the Illmores, that's why Cal kept it private from his parents.

As Isaak explained quidditch Brynn could almost feel her interest in the game seeping away. Beaters what kind of name was that. What awful sport would literally have a position just for hitting rocks at other people, rude. Luckily some other kid, Callum, came along and distracted him.

With the majority of everyone talking about trying out for quidditch or house teams or whatever Brynn scooted closer to the boy behind Karen who'd not said much.
@LordofthePies

"Hi, I'm Brynn, I don't think I caught your name though, " she said, hoping he'd not felt left out.

Even amidst the loud talking, and some students yelling, everyone could hear the loud double doors of the Great Hall open wide. McGonagal stood in he doorway. She put her hand up to signal the students to be quiet.

"Form into two lines! When I walk into the Great Hall, you will follow me, and stop before the stool." She then waited for the students to settle into their lines before walking into the Great Hall. All the older students' gazes were on the first years, as well as the teachers'. McGonagal walked behind a wooden stool, the students stopped in front of it. There was a hat placed upon the stool, and in a split second, it became animated, moving, talking, and what the first years didn't expect, was what it did next. It cleared it's throat, the began to... Sing!

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

The Great Hall erupted with laughter and cheer, students clapping and yelling. The sorting hat attempted to bow by curving down the tip of itself, which was met by even more laughter. Eventually the students quieted down and the Head,I stress was able to start the sorting. On the stool there was a roll of parchment. McGonagal picked it up and unraveled it. She began to call names.

"Charlyn Avalon!" The sorting hat was placed on her head. It began to talk, but only she could hear it.

Ahh, Miss Avalon, I remember when I sorted your father, yes, yes. Hmm... Not a bad mind, not at all. Well, Slytherin is out for sure. I'll say...

"Ravenclaw!"
The students clapped, and the Ravenclaw table cheered. She was welcomed to the table graciously.

"Isaak Boyars!"

Before Isaak walked up, the sorting hat considered his last name. As the sorting hat was about to be placed on his head, it called out,

"Slytherin!"
The Slytherin table erupted and the rest of the cheering and clapping was drowned out by them.

"Brynn Green!" Once again the sorting hat talked to her, it was like it was in their heads.

Hmm... Interesting, I've never heard of you before. Friendly, loyal. I know just were to put you...

"Hufflepuff!"
The Hufflepuff table clapped and cheered, and also audible was a chorus of laughs from the Slytherin table.

"Callum Illmore!" Cal walked up, nervous. The sorting hat was placed on his head, and he could hear it starting to call out,

"Sly-"

It stopped. Everyone looked at the hat in awe. It was the first time in years it had stopped in the middle of choosing someone.

No...? Not Slyhterin? Not the house that your family has been in for centuries? Well, that makes my life a whole lot harder. Hm... I know what to do with you then, but I'm telling you now, Slytherin would have been better...

"Ravenclaw!"
The Ravenclaws cheered louder, drowning out the Slytherins booing. As Cal walked to the Ravenclaw table, he could see his brother giving him a dirty look from the Slytherin table.

"Lavender James!" The sorting hat took. Moment to consider her.

Hm... Yes, yes, that'll do. I know exactly where I'm going to place you Miss James...

"Gryffindor!"
The Gryffindor table yelled and clapped, welcoming Lavender.

"Bishop King!" The Sorting had was placed on his head, and it took a while.

Hm... No that wouldn't be it. Caring, worried. Not that house either. I know... No. Not that either. You are a tough one, I'll give you that. Hm... Well you might be, I guess we'll have to see then...

"Hufflepuff!"
Hufflepuff clapped and cheered, and once again Slytherin laughed and booed.

"Jaylon Loxias!" The hat was placed on his head rather sloppily, it was clear that McGonagal was getting tired of doing this every year.

Ahh... I remember when I sorted your parents, your aunt and uncle too. Ahh... The memories. Anyways, I know just what to do with you...

Gryffindor!"
Out of all the houses Gryffindor was the loudest, yelling and screaming, it was clear Jaylin was welcomed into their house when he sat at the table.

"Karen McGrave!" The sorting hat was placed upon her head this time carefully by McGonagal, who was on and off, and looked like she would fall asleep at any moment.

Hm... Your quite the lonely one aren't you. Your not that kind of person though, no... Definitely not. I know, I know...

"Ravenclaw!"
The table cheered and clapped and smiled, welcoming her to the table.

"Terrance Neston!" This time it looked as if McGonagal tossed it onto his head, as it was slanted, and oddly shaped.

Ah, I remember your parents, yes... Your quite the trouble maker, aren't you... I know what to do with you, you'll do truly great here...

"Slytherin!"
The great hall was filled with cheers as Terrance walked over to the Slytherin table.

There were still tons more people to be sorted, and it ended when Amanda Zephasali was sorted into Gryffindor, and Nathan Zachary got sorted into Ravenclaw.

McGonagal, the put her hand up to silence the talking. She went on about how the Forbidden Forest was, well... Forbidden, and what you could do and couldn't do.

"Do to recent events, all classes will be pushed back to next week, instead of this week. Now... Let the feast, BEGIN!"

The food appeared on the plates in front of them, and cal didn't know what to do. He immediately went for the turkey, and Yorkshire puddings. He then turned to his new housemates, Karen, Charlyn, and Nathan.

"Hi, my name is Callum, it's nice to meet you."

Charlie grinned at Callum. "Ravenclaw is considered the smartest house. I am beyond thrilled I am a part of it. Though Gryffindor would have been nice too. I am Charlyn." She extended her hand to shake his. "I am happy to meet you. Hopefully we will grow to be friends."

Jay can't help but notice the guy trailing behind everyone. With a smile he squeezes out of the main group and gets beside the lone guy. Of course, jewel pops her head up as she smells mouse. This causes jay the keep a hand on the snake around his neck. "Hello I am jay. I noticed you were a bit by yourself back here" the smile has faltered a bit as he reminds the snake that other people's pets are not for eating by lightly bopping her on her nose. The snake gives an offended look but settles back down. Crisis averted he focuses back on the boy he is talking to. (Bishop)
And that was cut off when he was sorted. Griffyndor. His smile was large as he joined the table next to lavender. "Hey again"

Bishop quickly introduced himself before falling in line.
Hufflepuff? Oh well, this what he got for caring about the dead. He couldn't be angry, he was a misfit at heart and cared too much. His feeling got in the way of his intellect, and he definitely was too polite to be a snake. Bishop was brave, but he didn't know what to stand for. He supposed that the hat was right, and hey, beggars can't be choosy, it was a miracle he was still here. With that final thought, he shuffled over to what he guessed were the Hufflepuffs. Great, stuck in the same house as Bubbles. Maybe I'm too quick to judge? Bishop moved towards the only person he knew, Brynn. He sighed and stuck his hand out towards the girl.
"I apologize, that introduction was rushed. I'm known as Bishop King, and before you ask, yes like the chess piece," he patiently waited for the girl to shake his hand as Veil shuffled in his pocket. "I'm looking forward to working with you in the future, Brynn." Bishop nearly cringed at his own words but kept his hand out none the less. Maybe she wouldn't be as bad as he first thought.

Terrance Nestan

Terrance was busy looking around the area of the castle when they first got off the boats, and subsequently wasn't easily found by Cal. When they were lined up and he was put into Slytherin, he was rather surprised for a moment, before smirking evilly as he walked jauntily over to his table and watched the rest of the students get sorted. After the headmistress gave the word for the feast to begin, and food started appearing on their plates, Terrance took the opportunity to introduce himself. "Greetings, Slytherin minions! I am your new dark lord and master Terrance, don't worry, I promise not to feed anyone to any basilisks for at least the next two months. Now, it should be noted that I am in the market for a chief minion, so if anyone wishes to apply, the application process is simple, I'll release all two hundred and fifteen pages of the user agreement and disclaimers sometime within the next weeks." He bows flamboyantly, sweeping up a plate of eclairs in the process, before sitting down to consume his spoils with his mischievous smirk on his face.

Brynn positively beamed, sure she though she'd been stuck in a house full of people she didn't know, but it was the house she had wanted! Things only got better from there as Bishop joined the table. He seemed so, sad, maybe. It was hard to tell. She took his hand, shaking it graciously. "You too Bishop, it'll be nice knowing someone already. " She trailed off as the food appeared. Sure Charlie had said there would be food but Brynn had never imagined that it would be so much. She didn't think she'd seen that much food in her life. To herself she made a not to visit the kitchen to thank the elves and maybe hug a few of them, they clearly deserved it.

After piling the tastiest looking things onto her plate, and sampling a few, she returned her gaze to Bishop. " You've heard of Stephen King right, he's an American horror story author. He's got the same last name as you too," she said in attempt to make polite dinner conversation.

Bishop picked up vegetables for Veil. He never feasted before, and he wasn't hungry enough to start now. "Yes, my mother had read many of his stories to my during my childhood. I enjoyed every little tale, even the scariest ones," Bishop smiled at the thought of little him sitting against the headboard listening to the horror stories. He sat Veil on an empty part of the vegetable plate and let her begin her vegetarian feast. "What is your favorite author, Brynn?"

Brynn really hadn't expected him to know about Stephen King, and so was pleasantly surprised. She'd read quite a few of his stories, though she preferred non-fiction. The problem with non-fiction though was that it ended up with lots of different authors, and she never really paid much attention to them unless the book was in a series.

"Um well, I don't really have a favorite. I guess Hemmingway was pretty good, he was kinda long winded though. But i liked Marcus Zusak too, even if he wrote about sad things. I really don't have a favorite, I love them all." She exclaimed.

Bishop seemed like a wonderful person so far. And with a lovely rat, she just couldn't help but admire it. " Your rat is so pretty, in some places in India they are worshipped as godly messengers. They're also very clean and friendly, I wish my mom would've let me keep one as a pet. "
