Nick and Rosanna should be good to start up just like its a new day. I don't think any of the characters went to the arcade for the tournament though. I'll look over the character tab and @ anyone I haven't seen make a post in a while.

And yeah side characters can still do the occasional Tonsil Hockey/Smash and Dash if the [s]cobwebs are gathering[/s] story calls for it, but again with limited time spent on those interactions, the RP is based around PvP romance.
