Copen was relieved when the other boy returned his gesture - and didn't wince. Concentrating hard seemed to help. But would he really have to be so on-edge for the rest of his life? Sometimes, he wished for the safety of one of those power-deactivators. Yet he knew that this power would always be lurking within him. He may as well learn to harness it. At the question, he felt a heavy weight drop into his chest again. Copen had known that such questions would crop up in a place like this, but it didn't make his crime any easier.
