The thing is that I don't know how large your version of China is.

Also, where else can I put it? I wanted a China-based nation since I know more about that than other places and most of Asia doesn't quite follow how China works. India is separated by the mountains and doesn't need much explanation, Korea is actually rather different which I don't know much of, same story with Mongolia and South East Asia is sort of a cluster fuck that I don't actually know much about personally. I could do Japan but I have a desire to play as my ethnicity for this RP for some reason <.<"

I don't feel comfortable saying "this part of Asia is now completely China-fied" and ignore the national traditions of the nations I'd be replaces, it just doesn't sit well with me (I know, I'm weird, you can yell at me about it later). The RP says that its taking place in an Alternate History instead of it being a completely fantasy world which in any other case I'd be fine with having multiple nations based on an IRL nation.

What did you think of the other option though?
