[@Eodwyn Aether] ok cool! I can totally see there being a section of the city that lives more simply. :)
odd question, since the wall is being built to defend against these unique creatures, would are characters need weaponry? obviously some characters have magic and tools but would something such as a gun be out of the question? I mean I guess you wouldnt want to put something like that in the hands of a convict. I found a pretty good picture for my character though, he just so happens to be holding a gun. thus the question.
Because the wall is so high, I imagine it's extremely rare that the wall guards would need to use violence - the Grit simply don't bother attacking. The builders on the wall are not dangerous people; I think they're thieves at worst, but mostly they're just down on their luck. Dangerous people will be kept in prison. The policy on no weapons isn't very well enforced, especially if your character makes friends with the guards. There's no reason to have a weapon, but if you do nobody makes a fuss. [@Riptide][@Dud] Thanks for the feedback! We'll definitely explore the Grit, the wall, and character development! [@drewccapp] heeyyy! can't wait to see the cs! ;) To everyone: how do you feel about maybe using video game physics/mechanics? Specifically I'm thinking of methods of collecting objects in order to accomplish certain goals and gain power. There would be no numbers involved at all, but just the basic concept of magic power gems, for example. XD
