She was initially designed by a man in a village who needed a way to protect his settlement against a ravaging horde of raiders, though one person--even while given magical gifts--can't stand against that many swords and axes. While she was initially successful in driving the invaders away, their other looting operations eventually led way to better armor, weapons and tactics befit for a seasoned fighting force. Her creator and those that followed him eventually fell, though what caused her to sign up with this bandit gang is beyond me.
