Born and raised in Valenwood, Drakus was originally named Sidell. He was in his late twenties when he left his home to explore the land of Tamriel. During his time in Skyrim, he ran afoul of some skooma smugglers, and ended up being beaten to a pulp, and left in the ocean to drown. The Volkihar Vampires found him and took him in, first as a subjugate to feed from, before he was eventually turned into one of their number. Over the years, he climbed their ranks, until he was a respected member of Harkon's court, personally taking part in the slaughter of the Dawnguard following the blotting of the sun.
