I don't know. I haven't mapped out her personality well. I somewhat envision her to be much more robotic and apathetic in nature, as her humanity was stripped from her during the augmentative procedure, so she views human life as not worth saving. If anything, she was a volunteer, and knew full-well of the consequences of choosing to allow the village leader to use her body as a base for his creation. 

I guess that, during her final hours of humanity, she sought to save her people, but was probably guided primarily by a longing to see her husband and their children saved from the wrath of the raider horde.
