I'd say it's something like having an extra 11-12 pound weight attached when Qi is infused, only Shen doesn't actually feel said weight and, um, it's just extra force.....

So, imagine 11-12 lb weights on Shen's staff and limbs when he infuses Qi. That's the best way I can describe it, because damn words fail me.
