“A quote...? Miss, do I look like the poetic type to you?” -Adamah Fulgurate Name: Adamah Fulgurate Team: AASH 'Ash' Birth Date: January 31st Age: 34 Race: White Gender: Male Designation: Vale Border Guardian -=-=- In Depth Appearance: Many have described Adam, upon meeting him for the first time, as a giant among men, and they cannot be blamed. Adam is just shy of seven feet tall and three hundred pounds. His stature is stocky, muscular but not at all without fat. He has coarse, red-tinged brown hair, murky blue eyes, and a prodigious mustache. Two moles appear on his forehead, right above his left eyebrow, very close together. His eyebrows are thick and dark, his nose slightly upturned, and his chin cleft. Adam's combat attire is baggy, dark blue pants crisscrossed with black, black steel-toed shoes with similarly colored socks, a burnt orange double-rope belt with an aluminum clasp, a nut-brown cloth fauld, and a black, loose-fitting martial arts gi with the sleeves rolled up. Equipment: Adam's prized weapon is the Pillar of Earth. It is a colossal club more like a giant, rectangular bat. Its four outward surfaces are coated with broad pyramid-shaped spikes, no more than an inch long. The steel handle can be unlatched from the huge club part head and withdrawn to be used like a hollow metal pipe, able to be swing much faster and more precisely than the full weapon. Not being made at a Hunter academy, this weapon has no fancy alternate modes or hidden guns. It does, however, have a cylindrical compartment inside the head, and when a switch is flipped on the handle the top part of the club will swing open and dispense coconut-sized bombs made with dust and rocks. A remote on Adam's person can set off the bombs' detonators individually or all at once; the trigger mechanisms' location inside the rock bombs make it very difficult for an opponent to explode the bombs prematurely. Semblance: Adam's semblance, called Gravity, derives from his ability to drawn friends and family close to him, thanks to his heart. Adam can power up his own personal gravitational field, drawing things gradually toward him. With focus, he can condense this gravity into a much stronger cone. Aside from pulling things in, he can also use it to mess with projectiles and other things that fly through the air. Lastly, a focused gravity cone can be 'held' to keep pulled-in objects in place, and then 'burst' to send them flying back in a desired direction. This power enables Adam to defend against enemies with lots of projectiles and dust, who he would otherwise really struggle against. Abilities: from an early age, Adam was tough and powerful. These traits only magnified as he grew up, and nowadays Adam sports incredible physical strength. This being something that he's never dedicated too much time to, he spent a lot of his training as a kingdom guardian trying to improve his flexibility and mobility, and as such he's not a slouch in the running, rolling, jumping, and even flipping departments. There might be more physically capable individuals out there, not counting those with strength-related semblances, but Adam has yet to meet them. -=-=- Personality: In many ways, Adam is larger than life. He is confident and proud, with a substantial presence and voice, but not egotistical. Though capable of terrifying seriousness at times, he prefers to be a jolly, good-hearted goofball, the very definition of gregarious. Games (particularly sports), novelties, and trivialities thrill him. Not many full-grown men spout puns, but Adam is one of them, particularly since he became a dad. He cares deeply for his family and for his friends, extending his remarkable protective instincts to them. Despite this, classifying Adam as some sort of hero would be a mistake. What Adam believes in gives him the courage to fight like a man and a soldier, but not necessarily like a Hunter. Adam hates to be upset, but if something provokes him, he tends to heat up quickly. He's given to finding a routine and sticking with it, not being the most flexible. People who disagree with him or have problems with him will be tolerated, but not accepted. At his worst, Adam can be poorly-mannered, temperamental, and brutish. Those who know him, however, can attest to the great size of Adam's heart, both literally and figuratively. Place of Origin: Palisade Town, Vale History: Grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, son, daughter. The Fulgurate family line, though without a drop of noble blood, grand estate, legendary heirloom, or other such prestige, boasts a certain pride. For generations the entire clan has served, manning the distant northeastern wall of Vale as guardians of the realm. This heritage, unceremonious as it might be, has held true across the decades, and with it a glowing and beloved statistic: no Fulgurate ever died on the job. Into this bloodline Adamah was born in the sprawling but well-defended border town of Palisade, a settlement out in the sticks by any Vale citydweller's measure. Bearing the typical impressive height of the Fulgurate family, as well as its typical lack of wanderlust that might otherwise send an adventurous spirit away from the walls and into the bustling heart of the kingdom, Adam nevertheless proved to be an oddity, exhibiting a quality that none of his kin could match: joy. Adam was possessed of a contagious spirit, but one entirely jovial and gregarious. He met his fair share of challenges on the road of life, but never despaired to find himself alone, for his friends were many. Palisade natives, veterans of the wars, cityfolk, faunus—none were deprived of the offer of his comradeship. Growing naturally into the role of a guardian, he became especially close with three friends, and worked alongside them tirelessly to keep their portion of the kingdom free from invasion. However, he grew closer still to Evangeline Orinj, an immigrant to Palisade from Vale's city, having recently been kicked out of Beacon. The two discovered that they were inseparable, and after a little more than a year of dating, they were married on a grassy hill. They had two sons, and lived happily, if a little on the edge. A decade passed, and much happened. The family was struck with tragedy; the wonderful record of the Fulgurates ended. But the family slowly recovered, and moved on as best it could. When the announcement of the Vytal Festival reached them, Adamah rediscovered excitement. Convincing his three warrior friends to tag along, they enlisted in the tournament as representatives of Vale, and perhaps the fighters most representative of their people of them all. Relations with other characters: His fellow guardians, Adva, Serafine, and Hevel. All are good friends, used to cooperation, though not to the degree of a team of hunters. He has numerous other friends, and can make them easily. Most dear to his heart is his wife, Evangeline, a fellow kingdom guardian, and his seven-year-old son. Extra: Like Jaune, Adam has a lot of aura. 'Adamah' is Hebrew for earth, which calls to mind the color brown. Adva, a teammate, is water-related. 'Serafine' is Hebrew for fire, with its bright orange. 'Hevel' means a breath of air. Adam did not, of course, receive his training from a Hunter academy, and will rely on his potent natural abilities, experience, and his powerful weapon to compensate against younger, better-trained opponents. My semblance would be sneezing at gale forces

A crisp layer of frost, not unheard of in early spring, blanketed the dappled green and yellow grass. Every tree, though fringed with new leaves at the prospect of coming warmth and sun, had fallen silent and still. Freezing rain had fallen the night before, covering all of nature in an icy glaze. Very little of it seemed real, so idyllic were the crystalline ice the brilliant white, except for the frost that had been turned red by blood. In the middle of the expanse, among the thinly-scattered trees, a giant shape heaved. Around him lay two bodies, one an ungainly heap swaddled in brilliant crimson silks and a dying fire, the other flat on his back and trying in vain to keep his life from leaking any farther into the frigid valley air. The scene would have seemed like a quiet tragedy if not for the hideous blackness that marred the pale landscape. Be it with black or white, nature would soon claim the lives of the fallen, unless the kneeling titan could seize the moments that remained. He knew it, too. Teeth bared like an animal, the giant rose to his feet, pulling a massive club from the ground and resting it on his shoulder. Out from between the trees, the hungry wolves raced, accepting the challenge. As one they leaped, deadly claws extended, their large prey seconds away from becoming a large corpse. Then the titan’s club flew in from the side and careened into all three at once, shattering their bones and sending the ragged black pelts that remained away into the trees. He leaped forward, detaching the handle from his club as he did. With colossal strength he threw the pillar portion down, crushing one snarling beowolf beneath its weight. Then its friends joined in, coming from every angle. The giant lashed out again and again, in every direction, with his the pipelike handle, battering skulls and breaking limbs to the tune of metallic konks. When a wolf sprang at him from behind, it did not escape his notice, and with his foot he flipped up the club head to catch his assailant in the air. Stunned, it stumbled back, and the giant kicked the now-upright club head straight at it to plow the beowolf over. His eyes burned to see two beowolves looming, predatory, over the bodies of his fallen comrades, and he held out a hand. With an indigo force they were sucked toward him, and he jumped forward with a roundhouse kick that bent one over, followed by a sidekick to the other one’s chest. Before either could back away, he grabbed the first wolf by the next and jumped, falling on his rear but slamming the beast into the frosted earth with enough raw power to embed it in the hard soil. When the other landed on him as he was getting up, he threw himself backward, slamming the helpless Grimm beneath his bulk into the ground. Rolling backward onto his feet, he stepped forward to knock a fresh beowolf sideways, then crush it down with his show when it tried to rise. Another pair attacked, their claws raking off his aura. Grinning darkly, the giant whipped around in a massive hook punch to separate them before he treated both to a brutal clobbering, alternating between one and the other with surprising speed and accuracy before hopping upward and delivering a dropkick, one leg for each, that sent them tumbling away. For a moment, all was quiet. Then the sound of a great one’s footsteps echoed through the silver silence. The giant had known better than to let down his guard. He thundered forward to grab the club head and reattach it before turning around to see an improbably enormous creep. Truly a magnificent representative of its species, this creep stood at the height of an Ursa Major, covered in enough bone plates and spikes to make it seem like a bizarre, bipedal mech. This ancient monster stepped over the bodies of the giant’s dying comrades, seemingly intent on the battle. Willing to oblige, the human took off running toward it, raising the club overhead for a huge smash. Faster than the giant could correct himself, the creep span around, slapping him with its heavy tail. The sheer force lay him out sideways, sprawled on the bitterly cold white, and the creep rumbled forward to crush him beneath its clawed foot. Seeing this, the giant gathered himself into a ball before kicking out with both legs directly upward. For a moment the beast was stunned, trying to stave off the death sentence that was falling down. Despite his cumbersome size and weight, the giant executed a passable ukemi, and brought his great club into batting position. Before the creep could fully regain its balance, the man swung his weapon, pulling the switch at its base at the same time. "Rrragh!" Metal hit flesh with a resounding crack; a sound and feeling that could make even bystanders wince. Roaring, the creep shot several hundred feet straight upward, the force the impact shattering the icy glaze on every tree nearby. The giant replaced the club on his shoulder and shaded his eyes as he watched the Grimm fly, but at the tip of its flight he reached down for his belt and withdrew a remote. One button press later, and the airborne creep exploded violently, showering the frozen forest with smoking chunks and bits of rock. After one more second of watching, he hurried to his allies, placing the weapon in a crude harness on his back. ”Alright, alright. Here, I’ve gotcha. We’ll be back in town in no time.” Carrying both at once, he rushed off into the trees, leaving behind a cap emblazoned with three towers sitting in the snow. ”Hey,” his voice filtered through the crisp air. ”I hope one of youse still conscious. That was a hell of a shot—a hell of a shot.”
