[@Stern Algorithm] Same race can breed, so Vampire to Vampire, Human to human. Also mind you pamperedness in the house of Grangrel is punishable. His personality is like... "Disrespect me, I'll kill you." In my old roleplay, he had three wives. His second wife saved her son from a beating, but she got a heated fireplace poker to her ass and then dragged her to the bedroom for sex. He's kinda extremely controlling so you'd have to justify why she doesn't get treatment similar to her other family members. He also finds women to be incompetent in most things. He would prefer a son over a daughter. So you got a lot of thinking to do to work around him.
That's fine, I can zero-in on an idea better with constraints. And yes, I was planning on making a pureblooded vampire. So instead of pampered then, she was just lucky enough to be mostly ignored by Grangrel. Although since you explained the rule on vampires not aging past when their mothers were turned, I'm thinking my character could be Grangel's granddaughter. Her mother was still a young teen when Grangrel turned her, so my character would be perpetually a young teen. She'd bristle against being considered 'incompetent' by her grandfather, she flaunts her relation to Grangrel though no one would take her seriously, but otherwise, she'd pour herself into service to prove she's useful. I think she'd become manager of Grangrel's red-light business, while double-dipping into combat and/or assassinations.
In terms of specialization. Alchemy is more of a trade than anything else. Ravnos House are more likely to study it because he has the resources and they're the house of knowledge. Look at the other houses more by their values. Grangrel has a major hold on the black market (and political intrigue), but it isn't too far to say that his people are more likely going to kill without second thought. I do need you to justify how you know some of the whereabouts of the Nests. Since they're extremely hard to find. Or if not in a nest, how does your character get an Aspirant to reveal he is from a certain house? They pledge secrecy, so they aren't that dumb to reveal their Houses secrets.
Sorry, my mistake. I thought aspirants hung around at the school rather than new vampires. My idea was that as long as my character knew which aspirants were House Grangrel's, she'd just stalk the school and occasionally kill people she doesn't recognize. But if there're new vampires at the school instead of aspirants, then that idea goes out the window. Although now I'm worried since House Grangrel seems pretty popular and I don't want to step on any toes.
