Dante was born in a family of the lower class nobility that makes up the rank of field officers.

His father, Alexandre Wallace "The Crow" Arundel was a well respected captain in the Imperial army who commanded  the General's Murder, a ship engaged in the war with Raveros.
He had become famous among the navy during the war as both a peerless tactician, leader of men and a dauntless swordsman.

His mother, Margareth Olympia, was the daughter of Commodore Phineas Peter Gladstone. Though she was trained to be a housewife, she was also a good fencer and markswoman.

Though that could look like a happy end, the fact is that said superior officer had already promised her to one of the members of upper-class nobility in a crude trade for power and money. Alexandre and Olympia's marriage rendered all his plans null.

Alexandre's low blood and Olympia's father's spite doomed any hope he had to raise further in rank inside the navy. Soon he became jaded and bitter of the callous politics that took place in his city.

Together Alexandre and Olympia had three children :
Alexandre Corvus Junior first born and heir to the house.
Alistar Dante, second son, three years Alexandre's junior.
Maria Olympia, youngest by one year.

Alexandre senior one day voiced  a little too loudly, his disgust of several noblemen who made their fortune in trading  goods and slaves with various local crime sindicates. Though he asked for investigations to be led, he soon was the one who came under arbitrary scrutiny.
It did not take long before fabricated evidence piled up to demontrate treason.
Convicted of a crime they didn't commit, he and his family promptly escaped from a maximum security to the Karudun underground.
