Information on the Warp Skulls chapter (Brought to you by my Co-GM [@Sarpedon]
Chapter Master: Rokurou Caras Current strength: 3,000 plus marines General info/History/Organization/Tactics The Warp Skulls, founded sometime in M36 to the 21st founding, were a fleet-based chapter from their inception. Records of their creation are hazy, however they are believed to be a Raven Guard successor. Their relatively small amount of clout, thanks to their newness as a Chapter, resulted in an immediate skewing of priorities. Jumping to the aid of a Mechanicum Constructor Fleet, rather than protect a hive world full of innocents, the Warp Skulls earned the favour of an entire Shipyard, which dedicated its next several productions to the Chapter. The Warp Skulls lacked anything as ancient or hallowed as a battle barge, but their fleet of strike cruisers quickly swelled to twice that of many other Chapters. They also wasted no time in shrugging off the shackles of the Codex Astartes to try and increase their numbers. Having watched other 21st founding Chapters descend into mutation and chaos, they were determined to avoid such a fate. The first generation went well, and they numbered nearly three thousand marines as the entire Chapter escorted the Mechanicum Constructor Fleet through the edges of Imperial space. Taking a page out of Minotaurs' book, they only very rarely deployed at anything other than full Chapter strength, and when they did, it was still with overwhelming force. They excelled at ship-to-ship combat, and seemed to relish boarding actions most of all. Their close relationship with the Mechanicum also provided them with plenty of heavier, void-hardened armour, Hesh Pattern Bolters and Metal Storm bolts, making their assaults all the more deadly. When space-based attacks were not viable, they stuck to overwhelming shock-and-awe, using orbital bombardments, and assaulting in waves of Razorbacks supported by Whirlwinds. Unfortunately, their rapid recruitment process and an undetected flaw in their geneseed resulting in the huge second generation of Warp Skulls to experience the same overwhelming mutations experienced by other chapters. By the time they realized what had happened, at least half their Chapter was experiencing total mutation, and they were forced to distance themselves from anyone and everyone who might have something to say about such things, confiding only in the most trusted biologis tech-priests as they attempt to rectify the flaw. The Warp Skulls wear Midnight Blue power armour, with their helmets painted bone white. They paint bone white four-pointed stars on their armour to indicate battle honours, the size of which indicates the importance of the honour. Their left pauldron has the rim painted the same colour as their helmet. Their Chapter Symbol is a black fanged skull missing its lower jaw, outlined in the same bone white, with a four-pointed star on its forehead. They have a preference for Hesh Pattern Bolters with chain bayonets, shotguns with Ignis and Breacher rounds, and boarding shields. Aside from their assault squads, they are rarely seen with close-combat weapons, preferring to simply attach chain or powered bayonets to their guns. Thanks to the help of the Mechanicum they have a surprisingly large number of flawlessly functioning drum magazines, and most of their weapons are designed to fire more and/or faster than other Chapters'.
