Chamise Allen
Once they had grabbed the equipment, Cammie dragged him back to Sports Galore where she showed him the mess. He seemed to be a bit irritated, and she had figured he would be. He was a handyman after all... not a plumber. She pressed her palms together in apology. "I-I'm sorry, Sora-kun!" She exclaimed. "Normally I'd just take care of it, but all of the kids come after their sports practices for us to fix their equipment - we're going to be busy and I still need to finish stocking some shelves in the front. I promise promise PROMISE I will make this up to you, in addition to your pay!" She hurried to the door and then suddenly stopped, turning to face him with a radiant smile. "Let me know if you need anything, okay?" And with that, she ran out to mind the store. It was a bummer she didn't get to really eat lunch or stop by Tachibana Tailoring before her shift started, but the manager really hadn't gotten everything done that she thought needed to be, that morning. A couple kids had already made it to the store from their practices, so Cammie quickly finished stocking the baseball gloves and then went to the counter to help receive requests while the manager worked on them in the back. Another employee would arrive soon to help manage the sales floor, but for now Cammie would have to do that, too. She greeted the different students with smiles and even hugged some of her friends that stopped by. The entire time, a bright smile was plastered on her face. She flitted from customer to customer and back to the register, doing her best to help them all find what they needed. It was a true joy to her to match each person with the perfect equipment they were looking for. She was proud to work at a store that was so well-run. Even so, customers began to get impatient. The manager always under-staffed to save money, and Cammie was so exhausted from practice that she had trouble keeping up with the orders. "I'm sorry, what was the name on that jersey, again?" She asked an older woman who was there with her young son. "Oh my GOD! Are you deaf?!?! I already said it twice! KI-RI-HA-NA!" The customer had begun yelling loudly at her, and Cammie did her best to keep her composure. She seemed completely calm and collected on the outside, even though she was terrified inside. "Yes... Absolutely. Could you please spell it for me?" That was something they asked every customer, just to be sure since the printing couldn't be undone once it was on, but the customer was unhappy about it. "What?! It's simple kanji! Can't you get someone who speaks f*cking JA-PA-NESE to run your registers? I've already been here for fifteen minutes, just to place a simple order!" Cammie gave her a small nod. "I'm sorry for any inconvenience, ma'am... I just want to make your son's jersey the absolute best it can be. If you could just please-..." "You know what? NO! I've already been waiting so long! And I told you the name - THREE TIMES! What is so difficult about this?!" The manager surely heard this confrontation even way in the back, but she did nothing to come resolve the situation so Cammie did all she could to pacify the customer on her own. There were about ten people waiting behind her to be helped, but she couldn't get to them until this customer was satisfied. It was stressful, but she kept a friendly smile on her face and showed deep caring in her eyes. "I understand you must be frustrated. I apologize. But I do need the spelling of the name..." [@joeycbee]
