She'd just gaped at Olivia speechlessly, her eyes so much like her daughter's moving from Liv's face to her big, round belly. "P-pregnant." Cassiopeia had whispered, barely able to form words. "Y-you're going to be a mother." Olivia's smile widened, changing from a shy one to one full of happiness and pride as she nodded. "Yes, Mother. I'm having a baby. You're going to be a grandmother." The surprise was evident on her mother's face. "Olivia, I don't know what to say..." she muttered. But it was very clear to Liv that while Cassiopeia didn't know what to say, she did know what her feelings were about the situation with what happened next. In a move that came to Olivia as even more of an event than Rich's proposal, the edges of her mother's thin lips turned up just the slightest bit in what was probably the first time in Liv's life that she ever remembered her mother actually notice her or show any kind of emotion at all. Even though the woman's voice was still on the tighter side, it trembled with raw emotion. "Congratulations Olivia." "Thank you, Mother. And congratulations are in order for the both of you, too, future grandparents!" Olivia beamed. She'd been worried sick about what terrible things her mother might say to her when finding out she was having a child out of wedlock, but apparently the promise of a grandchild- not just any grandchild: the first grandchild- was enough to cause excitement and not disappointment. Meanwhile, her father Reginald had just smiled from his spot, but his eyes were on Richard instead of Liv. She gave her father a curious, questioning look, wondering what exactly was going through his head at the moment. As if responding to her unspoken request, Reginald took a deep breath and smiled wider. "I see my daughter's standards are high," Reginald stated, looking Richard over. Liv suddenly bit her lip, recognizing her father's look: it was the one he tended to use when he was studying a person he didn't really like or trust that much. "She always did have a thing for fairy tale princess. Only the best for my princess." Liv was confused then: did her father like Rich or didn't he? Her father's next words only added to her confusion. "I hope you find your stay to suit your eccentric tastes..." And with one last look at Rich, he said "I hope you can keep up." before taking his wife's hand and walking away. Liv watched as her parents entered the plane, and her eyes fell on Tati. Her beautiful sister had her mouth slightly open in obvious surprise, and Liv couldn't help but give her a smile and point out to her belly as if telling her 'Yes, it's true!'. Her smile quickly faded as she turned to look at the person beside Tati, and it realized that it was no other than Marisol. Whatever happiness she felt by getting approval from her parents was quickly replaced with annoyance. Of course Miss Pretty just had to be here, didn't she? And probably with something that was bound to take away all the attention and hype from Baby Carrington. Liv had to admit that she'd been hoping that Marisol would bow out of this trip (she had run away from home to get away from their parents, after all), and was very disappointed when her prayers went unanswered. And judging from the way Marisol had rolled her eyes into the back of her head, Liv was right in assuming she wasn't happy to see her either. But even though her action sent the blood boiling in her veins, this was no moment to make any kind of scene; Liv's day had been going too well to have it ruined by someone as irrelevant as Marisol. So Liv simply limited herself to give her a curt nod and quickly turning away. Olivia walked a few steps inside the plane and looked around curiously to see what family members had accepted to be a part of this crazy journey. Her brown eyes fell on Avery and a beautiful red-headed woman that could only be his girlfriend. She offered them a warm smile. Next, she saw her mysterious oldest Carrington sister sitting beside a woman. Samantha seemed slightly upset over something, and the woman next to her seemed to be comforting her, so Liv decided it was best not to intervene. She scanned the area again and saw Daniel with a lovely Asian woman, and Liv was unable to hide the way her eyebrows raised in surprise. So apparently The Ice Prince's heart could warm up to the right person. She tossed a shy half-smile in his direction and looked around once more. To her surprise, Amelia Garcia was in the plane as well. The young girl had been Liv's intern at Vogue that past summer per special request of Charlie, and she'd been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Lia was a fast-learner, very diligent and meticulous with every task assigned, and so incredibly sweet and polite that everyone in the office had been impressed and charmed by her as both an employee and a person. Today would be the perfect opportunity to let her know that, after talks with the pertinent figures of authority, Lia would be offered the position of Assistant to the Head of the Marketing Department for a temporary time while Liv was on maternity leave. She saw Amelia give her a gentle smile that Liv responded with one of her own. She was walking in her direction when she saw Tatia hurrying away into a nearby bathroom, Amelia going after her and Marisol suddenly going on a ranting spree. For what seemed like forever, the plane was filled with her shouts of not being like her mother, for her father to leave her boyfriend alone, something about money, trust and perfection that Liv simply couldn't catch because the raised voice sent poor Victoria on a kicking frenzy... And then finally it was all over, but the tense atmosphere created was so sharp it could cut. It was one thing that she wanted to avoid any unnecessary drama, but another when Marisol's hot-headed emotions threatened her baby's safety. So without wasting any time, Liv walked to where Marisol was and gave her 'sister' (ugh, how she hated to even think of using that word to refer to this woman!) a cold, disapproving look before leaning just close enough to whisper in her ear: "I don't know if you noticed or even care, but I have a human growing inside of me, and my doctors gave me a warning to stay away from all things that caused me tension, unease or stress. With the scene you've just caused and the tense atmosphere you've created my baby hasn't stopped kicking me because, believe it or not, babies can feel the emotions around them. So if you could please keep your rants and your screeching to a minimum or just plain avoid them, me, my child, and I'm pretty sure all the passengers on this plane would appreciate it. Thanks." Liv didn't bother with waiting for a reply; she just straightened up and looked away. Apparently the world wanted her to get back into a happy mood, because when she did her eyes fell on two other very important people sitting nearby. Liv's brown eyes lit up instantly at the sight of her oldest brother, who was sitting with an unknown man on one side, and her youngest brother Charlie. "Gabe! Charlie!" she squealed, walking in their direction as fast as her belly would allow it. She gave Charlie a kiss that left a dark red lipstick stain on his cheek, followed by a big hug. "My baby brother is so handsome and grown up!" she told him, pinching both his cheeks with a mischievous giggle because she knew just how much it annoyed him when she did that. Next, she quickly plopped into Gabriel's lap and gave him a tight hug that let him know just how much she'd missed him over the years. When she finally let go, Liv placed one of his hands on her belly, where Victoria was still kicking away, probably overwhelmed with her mother's constantly shifting emotions. "How does it feel to know that you'll be an uncle in three months' time?" she asked him with a bright smile on his face, keeping her eyes on his face to watch his reaction.
