[@Skallagrim] Here's the character I've been working with so far. I mostly just took him straight off a D&D character sheet I've been wanting to use for something here anyway. Let me know what you think.

Warren Price
The Laughing Swordsman
Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 27 Detail: Brash and arrogant, Warren finds that he has no trouble getting into fights of all sorts. Often overconfident, he tends to bite off more than he can chew. He has only managed to survive all this talk by virtue of the skill he backs it up with and how fleet of foot he his on the run. In the end, he only really respects the people who offer him a good challenge and are fun to fight. Though certainly a roguish character, he does have some sense of honor regarding a fellow fighter. Appearance: Warren stands just shy of six feet tall, with a wiry and lanky frame. Tall and thin, he is not particularly muscular and thus relatively light for his stature. Weapons:
Vorpal Cutlass - Warren’s primary weapon is the cutlass pictured above. Runes covered by the leather describe enchantments that make the blade more durable. Matching those figures on the other side is a Vorpal enchantment. When he lands a particularly focused blow, it tends to cleave or pierce through steel and bone like paper. When not in use the blade is sheathed at his left hip. Throwing Daggers - Often occupying Warren’s left hand is one of his many throwing daggers that he uses to parry some blows and as a projectile weapon. He keeps one in the top of each boot, one at the small of his back, one at each hip, and one at his left shoulder. Deflecting Dagger - When Warren is pressed by magical attack or out of throwing blades, he goes for his parrying dagger. It resides at his right hip, opposite the cutlass’ scabbard. The inside of the guard carries runes that allow it to turn minor spells as it might a blade. Trying to do so against a more major working will overwhelm the enchantment and render it useless for a short time.
Armor/Equipment:
Leather Armor/Blurring Belt - Warren wears the light leather armor depicted above, the only enchanted piece of which is the center-most belt about his midsection. It stores the excess kinetic energy of his movements in the form of magical energy. The swordsman can tap into this pool of energy to activate an effect that increases his speed and blurs his movements. If he exhausts the pool of energy within the belt (about three posts worth of action at maximum) attempting to activate it further simply expels what little energy has been built up since the last use to no effect. If a fight stretches on for a good while it is possible, though unlikely, that he might build up enough energy for one more use. Ring of Recharge - On the third finger of his right hand, Warren wears a simple silver band. This ring functions similarly to the belt above, in that it stores excess energy for future use. When he has a spare moment, he can tap into this energy to fortify his stamina and restore his strength to some degree. This offers no actual healing, and takes at least a full day to build any meaningful charge.
Skills:
Two-Weapon Fighting - Warren fights best with a long blade in one hand and a short one in the other. He favors a dueling style, using the longer blade for offense and the shorter to turn aside the strikes he can’t dodge. This is of course not exclusive, as his parrying dagger can still be used for quick thrusts and his cutlass can be used to knock aside strikes, though less effectively. Throwing Blades - Having realized that a swordsman with no ability to fight at range is often a short-lived one, Warren has taken to practicing throwing with his left hand. He has gained some skill in this, and with adequate preparation he is fairly accurate. While still able to make a throw on the fly, it is generally less accurate and not as effective. Unorthodox Combatant - Warren is no stranger to bar brawls or street fights, and has come to find advantage in situations others find problematic. Adapting his fighting style to the environment is something he focuses on, and he is certainly not afraid to fight dirty.
