Name: Silas Alias: Pelosomort Age: 7(?) Gender: Male This is a bit different, since he's not humanoid, but hopefully it'll work.
Because he is a bit of an enigma, Silas's abilities are a bit different. Being a laboratory creation does that to oneself. Poof - Able to seemingly vanish, only to reappear 5 feet away with a soft little "poof." Ignis - Silas becomes engulfed in flames for about 30 seconds at a time. Fly - Graced with wings, he can fly very quickly, both as a form of gliding and like a bird. Speak - He is able to talk to humans in English.

Weaknesses: Silas's weaknesses come from his small body and his squirrel mindset. He is very frail, not able to take many hits before his muscles give out. In addition, Silas likes shiny things, enough that he often becomes wayward if he spots something far away from his original destination, requiring great will to overcome his lust for shiny objects.

Silas is a rather inquisitive individual. Very intelligent, his squirrel like demeanor causes him to shift his attention from topic to topic, object to object, incredibly quickly. He also incredibly talkative, constantly chatting with others and talking to himself. Often, he will put others before him, trying to make them happy or comforted. All this hides his thoughts about his background and some of the darkness within him, because he always wants to try to be the best he can be, no matter the situation.

The first thing Silas remembers is swimming in a clear vat of....something, which thankfully he was able to breathe. Looking side to side, he saw other vats with abominations inside of them. Some were grotesque, having their organs outside of their body, while others had multiple appendages, like a 2 legged creature with seven legs like that of a beetle. He knew he needed to get out, so he started ramming the side of the vat, attempting to break it. After just a couple times, Silas felt exhausted, his body unable to handle the beating needed to break the glass. After recovering, he tried doing new things, such as whipping his tail at the wall, wondering if that would have any effect. It didn't. After resting up some more, he focused hard on getting to the outside of vat, concentrating all his might for a powerful ram. He started going forward, and suddenly realized that he was in the air, coated with the liquid, but outside of the vat. Looking behind him, he saw that the vat was still intact, but he was definitely out of it. He scampered from vat to vat, to see if there is anything else that looked like it was trying to escape. However, in his search for similar living creations, a scientist saw him. After sounding the alarm, the scientist tried to capture Silas, but as the fear rose inside Silas so did the flames outside of him. Obviously stunned at the flaming creation, the scientist hesitated, giving Silas enough time to see a window. Just trying to escape, Silas leaps up to the ledge of the window, and concentrates on getting to the other side of the glass. He succeeds, but thankfully it was a third story window, because as Silas falls to the ground, he unfurls his wings, gliding to safely. Not knowing anything with the world around him, Silas hid in some nearby barns where it was warm and dry. He spent a couple years living like that, teleporting out of danger when he could, sheathing himself in flames when he couldn't teleport, living on nuts and berrys and bugs. Eventually, he arrived in a town, where he found an inn for safety. As he would often sneak into the pantry for some of the more delectable foods, Silas was able to hear snippets of conversations. With his augmented brain, he was eventually able to learn the language, and taught himself to speak by practicing to the night vermin in the alleyway. More than once, he had to hide as the innkeepers would hear a voice in the alley and check to see who was speaking. One day, however, he lowered his guard too much, and was caught talking when the innkeeper entered the pantry. He chased him out of the pantry, and into the lobby of the inn. One of the patrons shouted "That thing isn't normal! It can't be allowed to live!" Unfortunately for Silas, they surrounded him, fully intent to beat him to death. Knowing there was only one way to escape, he let the flames engulf him, and teleporting away from the townsfolk, who (thankfully) were uncertain how to beat a flaming creature. However, the flames also caught onto the curtains near the windows, as Silas was trying to escape from the mob. Eventually, Silas was able to escape the inn, quenching the fires and hiding nearby the inn to see the outcome. Within a few short hours, the inn burnt to the ground, killing three patrons and the innkeeper who were trapped inside. Silas overheard one of the survivors telling the gathered crowd about what caused the fire, proclaiming loudly of a squirrel-like creature who could catch itself on fire. The word "Pelosomort" was shouted from one of the other survivors, meaning "Furry Death." Knowing that was his cue to leave, Silas left before he could be found again. Eventually, in one of his forays into a town, he heard whispers of a mysterious school that was rumoured to take in humans with certain abilities from a child about 15 years old. After discovering the school, Silas worked hard to make sure he gained entrance, and when he did, he just hoped to be accepted. Even though he may not be a mutant human, he still felt he was a mutant who deserved to be loved.
