Tessa Gray
Location: The woods -> The Clinic Interacting with: Her mom

Tessa followed Everett and Alice as they found their way back to the road. She didn't say anything not since she had spoken to Alice. Her head felt like it would split in two, but she was safe. The shadowy man couldn't kill her if he couldn't see her. The cops didn't look at her. That made it easier. It was getting hard to see though. The headache was burning her vision she saw nothing but the bright lights. Until she didn't see anything at all. Tessa woke, it felt like her head had been hit with an axe. Even the light filtering through her eyelids was too much. She heard a rustle next to her, turned her head, cracking her eyes open just slightly. Her mother sat in a chair reading a magazine. She didn't seem to notice that Tessa was awake. “Mom.” Tessa said, her voice was weak. Mrs. Gray looked up. “Tessa! You're awake.” Tessa’s mom leaned forward dropping the magazine to the floor. “What happened?” Tessa shook her head slightly confused. “The cops picked you up near the lodge passed out covered in deep scratches all over your arms. And no one has seen your friend Austin. None of the other kids have said anything.” Tessa gave a slight nod understanding. She figured the use of her power had drained her so much she had passed out. Maybe she should have dropped it after finding Alice, but at the time not being seen seemed like a good idea. “I don't know mom. I didn't see him.” Mrs. Gray nodded seeming to accept Tessa’s truthful statement. “Nina?” “She's okay, better than some of the others are. Petyr is okay too.” Tessa nodded. Her head still felt like hell she reached up and rubbed her temples. “The doctors said you had some sort of head trauma. Your arms are stitched up, but they were worried about your head.” “You're not mad? You seem unbelievably calm right now.” she was probably calm angry which was the scariest type of anger. The only time Tessa had seen her that mad was during the first fight after Janice’s death. “Oh I'm livid. And I called your father, and he's livid. And you're basically limited to the house and school. I'm locking the shop for a month. Also I'm considering having you go to the therapist three times a week instead of twice.” Tessa didn't bother to argue. Her mother had every right to do that. She was surprised that her mom had called her dad. They hadn't spoken since he had left. “He's coming to town. He'll be here Friday.” Two days and she would see her father again after years. It only took her nearly dying. She was amazed with and proud of herself for not snorting at the thought. “What happened at the party?” “I don't know. I remember there was a fight, and then the Earth...” she trailed off. Had the cops seen how destroyed the Earth had gotten? She was sure they didn't know how it had happened. None of the group that had been at the club meeting would, at least she hoped. This couldn't be good for keeping their powers secret. Though who would believe them. “The cops said it looked like there had been an earthquake.” Tessa gave a slight nod. Not really saying yes to that, but it was the only explanation without telling the truth. A nurse came into the room. “A Miss Gray you’re awake. Let’s get some food into you.” She gave a shooing motion to Tessa’s mom and stepped out of the room to return a moment later with a tray of food.
