Cyare Staunton: Rising, Not-So-Much-Shining
The proper time to rise was before the sun, and warm up at the same rate. Environment dictated how best to warm up, generally. A forest was wonderful for sword drills, a mountain pass was excellent for a run, so on and so forth. Unfortunately an inn was good for nothing. She hated wasting the money, but city guards generally frowned on people sleeping on the streets. So she had to shell out for a room (just one; Rei got to pay for his own), and more irritatingly, the challenge in her morning exercise. Without much space, she had to make do with sit-ups, push-ups, and jumping jacks. The latter she did twice, once at the beginning and now at the end. The warmup was more for her own state of mind than the exercise. The exercise was excellent, of course, but it was how she woke up for the day. Without it she felt sluggish, like she hadn't really gotten out of bed. Sword drills were usually good for her state of mind, but she didn't have anywhere with both the quiet and the space she wanted. By the time the sun had truly risen she was done for the morning, and ready to face the rest of the day. Not that Rei was awake yet. She had time. Which was why she had her complimentary robe and towel in hand, headed for the hot tub attached to the inn. A shower made her clean, but heat promised to be too excellent to pass up. She was aware, albeit relatively dimly, of a much more groggy girl stepping out into the hallway, but she didn't pay much attention. She wanted to be ready when Rei hauled his ass out of bed. There was work to do.
