The Esper felt the need to ask, even though the palace itself spoke on who could be the person that Ika was leading him to. In all honesty, Add still thought he would be better off without doing any of this, but with all of the things that went on in multiple timelines in relation to this one... he couldn't afford the risks of going solo on this either.
