Not really. I just say do your best to keep your sheet updated to current times.
I won't be counting on players to update small things like new mines being opened or the death of a hundred or so soldiers (although if the number is at least 1000 you should be doing some number crunching).
Again, as long as you don't loose a battle with half your army dead only for them to appear 100% on your NS and you acting as if you still have all your army instead of only 50%, there won't be an issue.
