Kingdom of Riflany
Nation Type: Feudal Kingdom Claims: Orange Area Terrain: The lands that make up Riflany have a humid continental climate though out their entirety. The northern portion of the country consists mostly of flat plains, that are perfect for farming and grazing land. To the south, the land becomes more elevated, eventually rising up in the Ozark Mountains in the Southwest. Most of the country's lumber comes from this mountainous region, which is covered in forests. The most striking feature of Riflany is the Mississippi River, which cuts through the land and divides the nation between the west and east. Government Type: Feudal Monarchy consisting of a Royal Family, Nobility, Aristocracy, and Military class in positions of power. Capital: Kingsport - Located in the center of the nation, split in half by the Mississippi. Head of State: His Majesty, King Rashawn II of House Caldwell, King of Riflany A new king, Rashawn II ascended to the throne following the death of his predecessor and brother, Gaspar; who was found dead under unusual circumstances. Rashawn II has been in power for little over 2 years now, and finds himself faced with the fate of an infant nation, an anxious population, displease nobility and riotous commoners. If he is to make a name for himself, Rashawn must pull Great Mississippi from obscurity into greatness. Following in his father's, Rashawn I, footsteps, the new king looks to trade as an option, building off of Gaspar's centralization of the farmers and expansion towards other major rivers. Other Important People: Lars Booker - Perhaps the holiest man in the history of the nation; Lars Booker was one of the original Wanderer Folk, who left with the 44 other families from Michigan and Illinois to wander the Middle-Lands before conquering the Riverlands. He is largely responsible for the development of Chaos Worship among the Wandering Folk, and among their descendants. Booker developed the Religion of Chaos almost entirely on his own, writing out and preaching stories and deliving mantras that he said were coming from the chaos beyond this world. Booker's teachings began in the Middle-Lands, and spread quickly among the Wandering Folk. Eventually, he was able to get the chief of the Wanderers to accept his cult, turning Booker into the High Spiritual Adivsor of the Wanderers, and his successors act as the spiritual advisers of the country to this day; his current successor is a distant relative of his matrilineraly, Anthony Wallis. Alistar Macclery - The High General of the Warriors of Riflany. Andre Little - High Treasurer Population: 2 Million Attitude Towards Evols: Largely used as an enslaved labor force. Economic System: The Economy is primarily rooted in farming; with farmers working on land owned by a member of the aristocracy, who they pay a portion of their harvest to as a payment to continue living on and farming their lands. The rest is sold off at markets to obtain necessary goods. In these cities, the "freemen" act as a class of artisans, though their lives are often more difficult than their serf-like countrymen. Corn and Poultry based agriculture dominate over almost all other forms of farming. Resources: Corn, Soy, Wheat, Fruits, Poultry Goods, Simple Farming Machinery, Iron Goods, Alcohols Currency: Coins made of Brass, called Pieces. They are minted with holes of varying shapes in the center to represent their value; merchants will often string them together, and it is not uncommon for people to sew them into clothing for decoration. Technology: The kingdom is fairly low on the technological scale, primarily consisting of farmers and other agriculturalists. Most work is done though hired laborers or though slavery. They are best compared to the american south during the 19th century in terms of technology and urbanization Official Religion: Chaoticism Religious Information: Chaoticism derives from the teachings of Lars Booker, who, while in his old home in the Middle-Lands, was considered a madman, joined with the Wandering Folk in the their great crossing from Michigan to Chicago. Booker claimed that his teachings came from the very force of chaos itself, residing beyond this universe and in the unformed void. Bookers teachings resemble a syncreticism of many old world religions that would not have been uncommon in the city of Chicago; his religion contains elements of Zen, Taoism, Islam, Christianity, and even elements of non-theistic or even anti-theistic philosophies. It can best be described as the Worship of Chaos, and the submission of oneself and ones will to the uncertainty of fate, which is forged by The Random Goddess, Chaos. Chaos is understood to be a monotheistic deity, often referred to as a Goddess, but understood to be capable of taking on whatever form, gender, sex, or other aspect she pleases. The world is her creation not through intention, but through random mistake. All things fall into place by her whim. Chaoticism is not organized, and is against centralized organization or written ritual, prefering to let things fall into place, and allow organization to form natural, along with ritual, as the goddess sees fit. As such, the structure and nature of worship can differ vastly even between temples in the same city. One temple may be a building, headed by an egalitarian congregation who worship though wine libations, while the temple down the road is nothing more than a heap of unhewn stone, upon which a priesthood restricted to girls aged 12 to 16 burn corn and chickens blood in a gunpowder oven inside the stone pile. History: How did your nation start? Keep it simple so I'd say 3 paragraphs at max more or less. I don't care if you make it longer than that but I might just start skipping over bits and pieces Culture: Some notable cultural traits of your people. Military Numbers: How big is your army? Remember, keep it proportional and balanced Military Units: What kind of units serve in your military? I personally have more of a focus on this than numbers.
