So if I understand you correctly, because this universe portrays religion as being a tool used by an overarching evil entity, you claim to hate it? If 40K made an effort to make religion as a whole seem evil in some way, then your statement might be understandable, but this is not the case, as the Eldar Pantheon of Gods are a group of beings similar to the Chaos Gods, but far more benign, born from the worship of the Eldar. The God Emperor is against religion for obvious reasons, but in the world of 40K, there are no real 'good guys'. It describes a world with conflicting opinions and thoughts, without stating with any absolution which is correct. 

I would argue that your immediate dismissal of 40K based on your limited knowledge of it and your religious views describes a closed mind, a most unhealthy disposition to take.
