She has track marks up her arms from past flings with the needle, and her eyes are permanently tinged with a bloodshot-like glassiness. Her left eyes has a glowing blue iris, hinting at its mechanical nature. Personality: Sly and sarcastic, Marie tries never to take herself too seriously, and has learnt not to rush through life. Like so many others who walk the road paved by ashes, Marie’s harsh upbringing has desensitised her to the world around. By 21st Century 1st world Standards she would be considered an anti-hero, bordering on a villain, but in her current circumstances she’s just another lowlife trying to get by. History: Marie grew up amongst a band of scavengers and junkers, working out of the great copper wastes. The refugees came from all walks of life, but were united by their desperate circumstances and need to survive. Marie’s people established trade routes with some Kahrenvel’s many Prospector Guilds, supplying scrap metal and salvage at horrendously discounted prices in return for safety and protection. Whilst the majority of the scavengers were able to swallow their pride and look the other way whenever raiders came to steal their earnings, Marie was quite the hot-head, and quickly grew sick of being pushed around. When Marie tried to stand up to the raiders they shot her in the side of the head, before dumping her out in the badlands; leaving her to bleed out amidst the sprawling wastes of scrap. Against all odds, Marie’s dying husk was happened upon by a cult of tech-savvy thrill-seekers from the D.I.T, who scooped her up and patched her back up; regrowing the left side of her face, and replacing her destroyed optic with an augmented mechanical eye. Marie’s next few years were a blur of drugs and pain. She became the favorite plaything of her captors; who would pump her body full of narcotics, before using her to placate whatever desire needed tending to. Eventually, the young girl became far too weak and disfigured for the cult, who were quick to spit her back out into the wastes of Kahrenvel. Succumbing to the experimental radioactive drugs that coursed through her veins, Marie began to mutate, becoming less human with each passing day. Whilst not a full-fledged mutant, Marie’s irradiated state was enough to earn her a spot in the Mutant Kingdoms, amidst the Bloodspitter Clan. Full of hate and rage, Marie excelled within the Clan, becoming one of their most prized scouts. Despite her new prominence, the young woman always felt out of place amidst her near-animalistic clansmen, and it wasn’t long before she stowed away in the night; taking a sizeable load of weapons and supplies with her. Marie happened upon the settlement of Nod; a safe haven for mutants and humans alike, although a crime-ridden one at that. Marie put her tracking skills to good use, and has set herself us a Private Investigator, working out of a small office within the dank and grimy streets of the dark city.
