Ah I misunderstood. Here I thought the markings left from the demon attack might have granted abilities or amplified latent natural ones. Looking back, my last character was... not to my standards today. Cringe-worthy even, looking back. 

So, if the character wants to have magic abilities, he/she must have possessed them before the events, right? No possibility of... alterations from the encounter with the demons?
