[@Kho] I'll go with a god character. After tossing around a lot of ideas over the past months (especially now that the trickle of activity in this thread churned up some new ideas) I've settled with a solid idea of a character and a rough approximation of his personality development arc that I'll be shooting for. To satiate any curiosity that may exist, maybe hear your thoughts, and just get these ideas down so that I don't forget them by summer, I'll share a bit of what I've been thinking. I'm still unsure of a name as I see that as the most important yet most difficult part of making a good character. Maybe Cyclanos, Cyclos, Thunderaan, or something of the like. The general gist is a god with the domain of air and portfolio of change. So the speech, wind, the seasons, storms, and the like would fall under his realm. Assuming no other characters are created that overlap too heavily, I'd even extend it to encompass cold and fire (cold being somewhat synonymous with wind and I like the idea of the poles being something of a sacred place for his worshipers, and fire just being another primal form of change, and one that is dependent upon air at that). Personality-wise he'd be defined by his inflated ego and hubris. In general he'd be a tumultuous and somewhat meddlesome character. He'd get along fabulously with Vestec at first, but he's essentially a gasoline can whereas Vestec would be something like a cloud of blazing sparks for the purpose of this metaphor. I can only imagine that they'd inevitably get into a feud over something petty and unintentionally destroy half the world during their little quarrel. Anyways, being a literal god of change the idea that I have is for him is character developement. Lots of it. A big character developement arc that results in him becoming an almost completely different and unrecognizable character when compared to how he started, over and over again.
