You are a crew member aboard a Cervian (Under the command of the Sons of Cervius) airship, in the third aerial battle for The Pore (A large pit about a half mile in circumference). The battle has been going for several hours, and you've been sent in as a second wave. The ship is named the "Long Run", and resembles this ship, with the inclusion of an 800mm cannon turret (much like Schwerer Gustav) mounted slightly behind the bridge. It has several dozen AA gun pods, and a crew of roughly 140 men, women, and a few boys. The Long Run carries 34,000 pounds of various bombs. There are also several 40mm turrets with three guns mounted on them, to the front of the bridge. Slightly to the rear of the bridge is a set of two huge smoke stacks, like that of a steamer. Along the stern of the ship is 6 humongous screws which propel the ship, along with various elevators/ailerons. Along the bow is a set of forward wings, used to direct the ship. On the very front top of the ship is another 40mm gun cannon, along with a 140mm howitzer in the bow.

The aerial gunship Long Run was in trouble. A large storm had been brewing in the sky for quite some time, and the wind began to pick up. There'd been several ships clearly identified as Kratal's Hands vessels spotted off the starboard side, around 40 minutes ago, and Long Run had put on more airspeed, rising to full steam pressure to catch up, but they'd have to wait now, still 40 miles from the target area, flying over the Errul forests. The rain starts to pound the deck, causing Captain Vintes to yell: "All crews, beneath deck!" An adequate command, seeing how the wooden flooring of the top level had been getting quite slippery and dangerous. Hearing the order, I quickly adjust my cap, and close the forward turret actuation access panel, and wipe my hands on my already dirty plaid flannel shirt, tucking a few small wrenches into a tool-bag. I'm a-hopin' this doesn' get too south very powerfully fast. I start to quickly run toward the access door, set into the grey steel poop deck. A dangerous battle deck is no place for a young apprentice mechanic, no matter how many conflicts he's been in, I think to myself, wiping sweat off of my brow, enjoying having the sweat washed off of my arms (where the sleeves have been rolled up). Why they ran this on steam and not diesel is beyond me...

Ok is this the IC thread? I think it is.
Well I can start because I don't know how you want me to respond to that.

Smoke. It billowed around like a storm cloud as its orange maker sucked the oxygen from the air.
"Silean!" barked the head mechanic. "Grab the extra ones for the back up tank!"
Moving quickly was difficult when you felt like your lungs were gonna collapse. She picked her way as quickly as she possibly could to the storage bow on the other side of the room. Grabbing the water bucket on the way back she handed it to another assistant who promptly doused the flames.
He chuckled, "A lot different then the dark underground isn't it?" When she only nodded her head he continued. "Name's Blake, yours?"
She finished installing the part and closed the door before turning to address him.
"Ria, and actually it can get hot down there, the planets molten core and all."

Upon opening the door to the maintenance hallway under the poop deck, I nearly run into Ria in my haste. "Whoops, sorry." Catching myself before run into her, I back up a few steps, and notice that it's quite hot in the maintenance hallway. I've got to make it to the rear cannon, they're having actuation problems back there from overuse, I think to myself. I nod to the other man, and to Ria as well. Probably should explain myself. I close the door behind me, before any of the torrential downpour has a chance to flood through it. "On my way to fix the rear cannon actuation. I may need some help, if you're willing to give it up, sir." I say to the head mechanic, and then turn to Ria. "Ma'am."

Turning to Blake she raised an eyebrow. Shrugging his shoulders he made a move for them both to go on.
"I'll lend a hand." Running down to the back cannons Ria slipped on a rag somebody left lying around.
"Damn," she cursed, from her back a white feather broke off and stuck to her shoulder. Collecting herself quickly she turned to him and asked. "So what seems to be the problem with the cannons?" Absentmindedly, she plucked the feather off her shoulder and placed it into her grey pouch.

K I have a question again. Do I need to address him as sir? I know I need to address superior officers like that but aren't we about the same level? We don't exactly have a rank.
