His hair is a short, dark brown, and his face is covered in a trimmed beard which extends a little more than two inches from his face. Aedan's jaw is squared, and his teeth white, for the most part a handsome individual. However, his eyes are generally somewhat baggy, and there are more than a few scars - mostly along his arms, which detract from the man's appearance. He stands at six foot, and his build is athletic and muscular. Usually he wears a maroon jacket with a brown tunic beneath, his armour his fairly simple comparatively to common, and more regal guards-wear. Mostly treated and studded hide, his armour is primarily around his neck, shoulders and upper arms, along with a pair of iron graves which serve as the strongest part of his armour. Around his neck, he wears a carved bone amulet of an axe.

M Y Q U I R K S
Habits | Quirks | Oddities

Pulling at individual hairs of his beard, particularly around the chin. He would, and has sacrificed many personal titles and holdings in order to retain his position as Guard-Captain. Many a dream has been put on hold by Aedan for his duty, but it is not something he lingers on - Aedan enjoys the privileges and perks that come with being a Guard-Captain, and has no desire to give them up. Aedan is gentle and calm when it comes to those he trusts, and especially in relation to Children, whom he has quite the soft-spot for. As inspired to serve as he is, Aedan can be somewhat abrasive and even hostile when dealing with those he does not already know and trust, especially in recent years. While he appreciates a good joke every now and then, and enjoys relaxing as much as the next person - it can be difficult for Aedan to 'Switch off' at a any point, most of his time is spent focusing on his work and his duty to protecting the Noble family of Falor. Generally, he can appear as somewhat of an ass to most people he comes across, but he doesn't particularly care, Aedan has never attempted to really present a decent image past a loyal and strong guard.

D E F I N I N G M Y P A S T
History:
Born in the north to a group of barbarians, Aedan's village was raided by Falor's military forces when he was young, the raid claiming the life of both his parents. Barely young enough to remember, Aedan was taken in by a Cavalry officer compassionate enough to bring the boy to a better life. Returning to one of Falor's most northern cities - Talonvale - Aedan was raised by the same Cavalry officer who saved him, growing up without a mother, for the man was unmarried. An educated and privileged man, Aedan's step-father was able to teach the boy how to read, and gave him a basic education in most things, including swordplay. Considering the vast majority of those he grew up around did not know Aedan's origins, he was welcomed wholly into Falor's society, and most of his young life was simple and civilized. When he was sixteen, Aedan joined the Talonvale city guard, performing admirably in the first few years of his appointment. Aedan demonstrated marvelous skills with the sword and an idealism and striving to justice and adherence to law. By the time he was twenty-one, he had become a Lieutenant in the City Guard, and was earning a fair bit. Most of this money went to his father, who at the time had become quite ill, hoping to treat his father through both medicine and prayer, it was not enough, and Aedan's step-father passed away in less than a year. Grief-stricken by his father's death, Aedan refused to believe that if there was truly a god, they had simply let his father die, and so he became disheartened with the idea of religion, and renounced his ties to it. Having little more for himself in Talonvale apart from his appointment as a City Guardsman, Aedan spoke to the captain, and with his assistance, was able to gain an appointment in the Royal Guard. Aedan found he fit in well with the Royal Guard, already an ideal swordsman and keeper of the peace - but he did not fit well with the sudden perks he received. Aedan never quite dropped his regimental, law-man's attitude, and his holding to his duty did not go unnoticed. After many years of service, Aedan was appointed to replace the deceased Captain of the Royal Guard, and appointed a knight-hood for his loyal years of service. During the war, Aedan has been as much a soldier answering directly to the King as he has been a guardsman, and the King of Falor has used Aedan for many means, from hunting down and executing spies, to quelling riots in the city.

M I S C .
Extracurricular Activities:
Reading/Writing Archery Teaching Swordplay
Extra:
Historical Fiction, for sure.

Ser Yorke the Godless
{"I don’t know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn’t."} ⚜ Acquaintances || ☯ Neutral || ☮ Friends || ♫ Best Friends || ♥ Love Interest || ⚤ Boyfriend/Girlfriend || ☠ Enemies

Symbol Here F I R S T N A M E .
