[@TheWinchester4] Think of this as more of a low-fantasy western post-apocalypse, there is no technology at all. There is no electricity, or even heavy steam-engine usage, this is a gritty low-fantasy western. Magic here is rare, and it is not very magical in the high fantasy sense, and it is frowned upon in most communities. I believe in this world an average person wouldn't have knowledge or access to much magic, someone has to have been through training in order to gain magic control and usage. There are a couple dragons still kicking, but they are hard to find and they are quite dangerous. They can speak the human tongue and they are quite intelligent. Most of them took a hiding in the highest mountains, away from the harsh conditions of the world. There are numerous settlements out there, but they are either less developed as communities (ie. bandit camps, survivors hiding out..etc) but nothing as big as Thrivenshell town. The world is completely devastated, like in the OP, everything is scarce including humans themselves. As for races we will stick to just humans for now, other races like goblins and orcs exist, but they have never made contact with humans as much, they have their own hidden communities.
