Anyway, and sorry to bring IRL into this, but Osamu and the Mon Alliance can be loosely likened to [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rojava]Rojava[/url] without the War Crimes and with the Gender Equality and Sustainability and Democratic Processes. The Resistance, meanwhile, can be likened (loosely again) to the Free Syrian Army while the Reign of Chaos is a combination of the Syrian Government and ISIL.

Osamu and Naoki, the two main leaders, want to keep themselves independent of a Strong Central Multiversal Government, although the rest of the Mon Alliance's named characters don't really care.

Basically, that's how I see it.
