Digging around in the small gaps near the levers revealed a strange, crumpled-up note, and just as I tried to uncrumple it, the sound of grinding gears filled the room. Almost as if it was a reflex, I checked behind me, where Chen was... he was silent, but thankfully, he wasn't holding his dagger to my back. "Heh, y...you scared me back there, buddy..." I said to him, sounding legitimately nervous about the possibility of him stabbing me in the back. You know... I'm pretty sure he's going to attack us if we sleep... maybe, just maybe... I think as I start to get an idea of what to do, provided there was a dummy I could use for my idea, that is. Of course, the only dummy I ever saw was somewhere in waterfall, shouting about revenge for some... random thing I couldn't even try to guess. I made absolutely sure to keep Chen in my view, just to be as sure that he won't kill someone while we're not looking. Of course... I had to read the note, but I did so in a way where I could still see Chen, and what he was up to. The place was somehow both dusty (and thankfully, not much, if any of it was monster dust), and humid. I assumed that the humidity came from the nearby sources of water, which I could only guess were an absolute necessity for ancient monsters who lived here back when this was the only home we had... here, as in the ruins, not the underground, of course. I was, obviously, around back when we were stuck in the underground, but I don't think anyone who's still alive, save for the king and queen, have been around back when the ruins were still called 'Home'.
