I'll post in vase anyone wants to talk in the kitchen over a drink or two. Not everyone needs to go to Omega, right?
Sure, we'll dump you all off on a moon while we do our thing and come back for you. ;D
A quick and largely irrelevant note about the Extranet, it isn't instantaneous like it is in the games for most civilians. It works by sending priority information packets through relay buoys across the galaxy, where emergency military and government stuff takes priority and can do things like real time streaming, whereas basically everyone else has to buy packets of various speeds. This means depending on what you pay for, your packet can take hours, days, or even weeks to go through.
So basically, how I imagine things being set up, a user subscribes to whatever sites or services they're interested in, the most updated information gets sent to them, and any activity they do is sent back out in the next packet. It won't make a huge difference, but it may put a serious damper in your porn browsing in space.
Stuff like emails I imagine can work like a local area network and go real time.
Either way, odd bit of trivia I thought I'd share.
