Perhaps a heat round can get through solid rock, but whether or not it can reach all the way to the Magna Pater's bed chambers depends on how much.

And that's after a half-hour trek down through the caves before Ruby even reaches the crevice, not mentioning the initial tunnel. It really doesn't matter in this battle though, because I think we can agree that one way or another Higan should be able to get down there. If it can't do it, then just science up the power of that warhead.
