[i]Log Horizon [/i]is an anime about a space ship called the [i]Horizon[/i] and its crew. Their story is told through the ship's log (thus the name "Log Horizon"). It's a miniseries about 15 episodes long in which we see the inevitable demise of the crew as they struggle against megacorporations, small dictatorships, space pirates, and weird cosmic lifeforms that infest derelict ships. They end up not dying to any of these evils but to starvation and the freezing cold of space after their ship runs out of fuel. The Captain kills his crewmates when everything looks hopeless, then gives himself the same merciful death.

The audience knows the fate of the crew - or has a hint about it - at the start of the series because someone boards the abandoned ship with desiccated skeletons inside and starts listening to the ship's log.
