I know this isn't my RP, but I've run a few with a good friend and we always made it a point to make sure the players who played vampires were well aware that it is a very crippling curse and that if not hidden well, they will be killed for being a disgusting abomination. Same thing goes for werewolf characters. It's why we only ever had one vampire character in our years long experience GMing both independently and together.
