Bards sing songs of the brutal wars between Elves and Orcs/orc like beings. Such wars are bloody, long, and are based around the hatred between the two races.

My lizardy small folk live in a spot between the two races, and even if a fair bit of any wars between the two nations take place over the water I still don't like the thought be being stuck between two large warring nations.

Granted war may not happen, perhaps the ever angry war beasts will learn to love with the help of the sexual long ears. But I'd not put money on it.
