Yup. Sovereign's nation has humans. There also that one player in the interest check who made a human nation, but hasn't shown up.

My nation also has humans. Roughly 33% of the population is human, actually. Half of that 33% are slaves for the time being.

Grogar tribes may also accept none-grogar races into their ranks as time goes on.

Hey now, the moon people aren't that angry. It's not their fault they only have one terrifying facial expression.

Would it be a good idea to try and pre-plan alliances? I've got a race of pretty mermaid creatures, who've have yet to evolve legs. Industrial little snots. Learn fast and work hard. Anyone interested?

I might be interested.

On another note, I'll be getting my post up tomorrow, late over here.

This is a good idea, and I suspect the others will follow it. However, my nation is isolated, and it will be mostly interested in trade and exchanging knowledge. At least I don't have to worry about the Ayels and the Grogars. I would like to pursue a friendship with the Regulli if the Saurians do not get in the way.

@Frengo
I also think I may have been misleading in one aspect of my nation sheet. The average lifespan for the Edimmu is 80 - 100 because I thought of that as twenty years older than a healthy human could live before the rise of modern medicine.

On the note of pre-planning alliances and stuff: I'm planning to go with the flow. Whatever makes sense is what I'll roll with.

Why does it seem like everyone sees the ayels as bad guys? XD

They were able to subjugate some humans, and I don't want to be next. You mentioned that they'd rule over them almost like they were gods. On the other hand, their religion might make them a prime candidate for the source of a world religion, a concept I'm hoping will actually occur.

They're not really bad guys, though. They're really just overly concerned with their race's survival and the humans serve as a great meatshield. Plus, once I get my first post up you'll see that the humans weren't exactly little angels. Though maybe I will try to go the "world religion" route. After all, if a large chunk of the world sees them as the Children of the Gods they'd be much safer.

Errr, we're a little crowded in here at the moment buddy. The way we're going, a turn is going to take a whole week to resolve.

Speaking of turns, you guys think it would be better if I did away with the turn order? And just let everyone post, and then move to the second century once everyone's had a go? Not knocking anyone for taking too long or what have you, but I greatly overestimated the fluidity of the situation.

Or are we happy with this chill pace? I haven't got an opinion, I'm just ensuring all my little players are as happy as can be

As for everything else I need to answer/review: Going to eat first, take a few mins to chill, and then I'll bang out some responses.

EDIT: Maybe put a deadline, like "First century to be completed by 26th, absent players will be removed" or something to that affect, with bigger words and more poetry.

I favor the idea of simply letting people post, doing away with the turn order, assuming there is also a time limit placed on posting so that we aren't held back to long by one or two people.
But then again, I'm not fond of waiting for long, I'm eager to play with Kobolds, and I'm not the GM so it isn't my say.

It's possible. I'd say it's much more possible to happen later in the evolution phase than at the start. At the start, in fact, the raiding that will be done by the saurians will probably encroach on your territory. Depending on your actions, though, I think I'd be willing to start entertaining alliance prospects at around Turn 4 of the Evolution phase. That's 400 years for change to come to a society based on raiding, after all.

My suggestion is this: Do away with the turn order, but keep the turn updates at a chill pace. I.E...

  • If everyone posts, update the turn,
  • But give folks, say, a week to do so, maybe even a few days longer.

A grace period of 7-10 days would give folks plenty of time to update, but I think it's better if we're allowed to update during a given turn whenever we find time to do so. Though I definitely still think I like being limited to one post per turn during the evolution phase.

With that said? I'm totally cool with the current setup if you like it this way. I'm cool with waiting.

@epicberet The Trolls seem well balanced as far as I'm concerned. Accepted, please move them to the character's tab so that I can complete the Current Nations list.

On the matter of the turn order...

@neogreggory@Sigma@ClocktowerEchos@TheSovereignGrave@ZB1996@Shorticus@SavOrhchid

It seems apparent to me that the turn order is... incompatible with the amount of players we have, when one takes into account the various time zones and life-related factors at play. A single turn could take a long time, and though it would be more orderly, it could mean players having to wait a great deal of time before posting - opening up the potential for lack of interest through lack of interaction.

As of now, all players who have yet to post their first century, are free to do so.

The First Century must be complete, by 16:00 GMT 0 on Thursday the 25th.

If you are unable to reach this deadline for whatever reason, then you can escape expulsion by simply reaching out to me - either through the OOC, or via PM. In this case, you will merge the century you missed, with the nearest one you're available for. At present, this seems to me to be the best way for resolving such issues.

My posts will always denote the beginning of a new century in an Evolution Phase.

If you have any questions or concerns, now is the time to voice them.
