Eh, the only problem with 'only kill said character with consent' is that it pretty much gives them plot armor if they DON'T want their character to die, regardless of what stupid shit they pull though. I mean, this is an extreme example, but say that a player character spits in the face of the final boss when they're but a lvl 3 pleb.

His ass should be murked to pieces, but the power of 'no, I dun want my character to die' would mean that, no, he doesn't get bisected.
