There was once a swingin' hotel in New England during the 1920s... Somewhere. It was called the Golden Tree Hotel, a beautiful, almost glowing spot on the beach. However, it never got quite as big as some of the other spots on the coast and eventually faded into obscurity, then bankruptcy. This is quite possibly because it was haunted as shit, but nobody was quite sure. It fell into disrepair and abandonment long ago, until there was little more than a foundation and some ground floor rooms and structures left standing in the ruins.
Unbeknownst to most people in the world, someone, or something, or some group of people with a lot of money elected to rebuild the place, and its lights have been quietly glowing on the coast for months now. One day, you received an invitation to the hotel. To the grand opening.
The point is, this hotel isn't quite finished being built, and there's a lot of ugly things in there that may or may not want to eat your body parts. Eldritch location, Silent-Hill thoughtform, Monsters in Maine, and all you have are your wits!... Doesn't seem quite fair, does it?
